iPhone battery life tips

Had been having loads of problems with my iPhone 4 running out of battery by halfway through the day even with moderate use, been driving me mental. Found 2 great solutions that have literally changed my life (sad) so couldn't resist sharing with you all:
1) Go to settings -> location services. Switch as many apps to 'off' as you feasibly can. lots of apps constantly checking your gps location kills your battery.
2) Click twice on the menu button at the bottom of your phone (the square in a round button). You will see a bunch of icons appear in a single row towards the bottom of your display, these are all apps you have used recently that are now 'open in the background'. For some reason these seem to use battery. If you press your finger on one of these icons and hold, a little minus sign will appear next to each one. Click these, all of them. Battery usage much reduced. NB switching off your iPhone entirely and back on again once or twice a day also has a similar effect.
That's it. My battery life just quadrupled. Any other similar revelations to add?

Turn off bluetooth if not needed - only turn it on when you need to connect to a bluetooth device.
Change the time that Mail checks for emails to a longer period or better still, have it set to manual. This way it checks new messages when you open mail.
Limit the time you play games, as this is one big drain on battery.0 -

Pay particular attention to the very bottom of the page:For proper maintenance of a lithium-based battery, it’s important to keep the electrons in it moving occasionally. Be sure to go through at least one charge cycle per month (charging the battery to 100% and then completely running it down).
I do this once a month - let it drain completely and leave it empty overnight, plug in to charge in the morning. Makes a HUGE difference.0 -
I thought God had made IPhone with wonderful battery life ???
