Whats Virgin Mobile like?
Hiya im currently on O2 and due an upgrade on the 16th September so have been looking around at deals for the samsung galaxy s2 the problem i have is i know myself and my partner will fail a credit check. However we have been offered a good deal and told we should be ok for a credit check for Virgin Mobile because my partner has been with them for so long.
The only thing is i havent heard anything about the coverage, service etc for Virgin Media and was just wondering if anyone is with them or has been with them and give me a heads up on what theyre like.
Or would we just be better staying with o2 and lowering our tariff in a few month?

They use T-mobile network.
Says it all really. Personally I try not to have anything to do with any company connected with Branson.0 -
Why do you not ask your partner who "has been with them for so long"?
The coverage is the same as for t-mobile (= Everything Everywhere for 2g now I believe).0 -

Actually weve not had many probs with virgin media except for a spell of 2 weeks when we had no cable and also the occasional problem getting customer services to understand a problem weve had.
I didnt know if they used the same customer care centres of if they were based in the UK because we were as good as told v.mobile and v.media were seperate entities0 -
Appalling company with terrible customer service! Overseas based call centres and you have to wait at least half and hour everytime to get through to them. One of the worst companies I have ever dealt with!0

Uuuummmm.... those sounds like a pretty major issue to me!0 -
Amen to the terrible customer service.Got a complaint which has been ongoing since June, been getting conflicting information from them left right and centre, and have sent 4 emails and a letter of complaint, none of which have been responded to till today.
And suddenly, today, get a call telling me that the subject of the complaint is a problem at their end which they're going to fix. When I asked them to confirm this either in writing or by email- no.0 -
I've found both Virgin Mobile and Virgin Media to be really good, no problem getting through and my queries have been dealt with really quickly and professionally. I moved from O2 as their customer service was so poor and Virgin have been a breath of fresh air (so far!). I guess everyone has different experiences.0

I had Virgin Mobile for four years until last december when I moved house and had no Virgin signal at the new address.
The service from them was fine, and I especially liked the £10 a year contribution they make to a new phone bought through them. I was also able to haggle a cheaper broadband price because at the time I had both products with Virgin."There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0 -
I have been with them for 8 years, but right now I'm sick of them.
They have always been helpful and quick, good deals, cheapest network for ages. However when I went on to contract they cocked it up and cut me off 3 times. They overcharged me on one month, then undercharged me on another. Ive had no end of problems with them lately. I cancelled the direct debit as I didn't want the insurance (I asked them to cancel and they didn't) and they got really rude with me over the fact I couldn't pay the bill for another 24 hours as I was away.
They have always overcharged on the PAYG 30p internet thing too. I know it's 50p now...no idea why they put the price up on that...
Signal is terrible, I have to use landlines to make calls as my calls cut out halfway through. Bare in mind it never used to be like this! It's the same now, no matter what phone I use.
Their current contract offers aren't that good either.
I plan to go with O2 when my contract is finished.
Stay with 02.The Fields are Green, The sky is blue, the River Nene goes winding through, The market square is Cobblestoned, It shakes the old dears to their bones, A finer town you'll never see, A finer town they'll never be, Big city lights don't bother me, Northampton Town I'm proud to be!0 -
I am with Virgin at the moment. Moved house about 18mths ago signal was a bit weak but I coped alright with it. About 2 weeks ago this all changed, the signal in & around my house is virtually nil, my wife is on O2 & signal is very strong. I will be phoning up Virgin for my pac code to keep my number & will be moving very soon to Tesco(O2 network).
