PPI claim against RBS

Has anyone received settlement from RBS since the banks caved in? I put a claim in about my PPI last year and it all went on hold due to the court case. I got a standard letter this year saying that all cases would now be looked at and that the bank had until 31st August 2011 to respond. I rang them at the end of June and was told they were dealing with all the cases received before the High Court date as a priority and that on the date I spoke to them they were dealing with claims dated August 2010 and would be clearing them on a month by month basis but assured me they would all be dealt with by 31/08/11. They checked my claim and confirmed that they received it on 02/09/10 and so to "hang on and I should hear something soon". As yet I have not heard anything. If they have not completed Aug/Sep 2010 claims yet then surely they are never going to complete all the others by Aug 31st. People who put claims in during the High Court challenge and after it will be waiting forever at this rate. Are they just being cute and hanging on to the money as long as poosible and will we all receive letters just before the 31st Aug or has anyone received an offer and a payout recently?

Hi
You have been waiting a long time!
Have you emailed the CEO?
I know it's not long for the end of August and I do hope you hear well by then or before, fingers crossed.:)The one and only "Dizzy Di"

Phoned RBS again today and all they would say was that I would hear within the next three weeks and they assured me that all claims prior to the High Court case would be completed by 31st August. Let's hope I have something to post in the Success thread!0

Another ten days gone and still no contact from RBS. Only another eleven days and they are out of time. What happens then? Should I look on the bright side as at least I have not received a rejection letter yet? Does anyone know how long they take to pay out once you have accepted an offer? Am now fed up of hearing of people who have claimed fairly recently who are getting offers and payouts. Sorry to sound miserable but am being made redundant and would love to settle some bills if possible.0

Hi there
I put in my claim in July 2010 and have had the same standard letters as you. I am seriously beginning to doubt they will be able to make the deadline as I havent heard too many folk getting claims dealt with on here. The phone line is just ringing out. I wonder how much o/t they will have to pay out this weekend to get people to work? I once worked for a loans company and they paid us quadruple time to come in and process loans to meet a deadline.0 -
Assuming the FSA do what they should be doing, they should be fining the banks say £100 a day per customer who hasn't been sorted, but instead of the FSA or the government getting the money it should be given to the customer who has been delayed.Another ten days gone and still no contact from RBS. As on another part of the forum, you may find that either this week or next week there will be a large mailing to all customers whose details have been entered will receive a letter saying their complaint has been upheld, they will probably make sure that there was ppi on your loan or cc then leave it at that, they can't afford to investigate everything.
Unless they just stick the finger up to everyone, and say what you gonna do about it?:(Thanks to all the competition posters.0 -

To be honest smitchey nothing about the banks would suprise me - the way the RBS has treated customers is disgraceful. I just want to get my money and close my account.:mad:0

Spoke to RBS yesterday and they confirmed that they are on track to send out all letters by 31st August. If your claim has been upheld you will have to then sign the letter and return it to them. It will then take them EIGHT to TWELVE weeks to get the money to you. What on earth is difficult about electronic transfers. I'm sure if I owed them money then they would not wait that long. I'm sure they will lose loads of customers after this.0

Thanks for this....I agree also, other banks can transfer the money quickly why can't a big bank like RBS?????0
