I flew over 100K miles on United but the standards slowly got worse and worse and I haven't touched them in 10 years. BA is OK but as others have said have a look at booking the internal flights separately, there are endless sales at the moment on airlines such as JetBlue and Southwest Airlines, both of which I love

    Many thanks.

The flights to Chicago and back from San Francisco are £1260 with United, around £200 cheaper than with the internal United flights.

However I've not found any fares for May 2012 that have been released for Southwest Airlines or JetBlue, and for fares in May it looks like $460 to Las Vegas from Chicago and $200 to San Francisco, which seems more than £200!

I'll keep looking, but haven't found anything close to the original United flights so far.

    Are they really that bad?

Well I've taken the plunge and booked our flights with United/Continental! So that's the first stage of the honeymoon for May 2012 booked :)

Heathrow - Chicago - Las Vegas - San Francisco and back to Heathrow over 10 days :)

Great! Enjoy the trip and your honeymoon.

Sounds great, except that we hated San Francisco - too damn cold and damp!!
