Ryanair no refunds

Hello

I have a flight booked from France to Spain this Sunday but I cant go due to pregnancy complications. I have a doctors medical note, but when I phoned Ryanair, they said they dont do refunds and tough luck basically.

Is this really it? Is there any loophole around it as I thought if you had a valid medical reason, then they had to refund you!?

I dont have travel insurance.

Many thanks

Yes, that really is it. Have you got travel insurance with a bank account?

Unfortunately, somewhere deep within the booking conditions (which you no doubt clicked a tick box to say that you had agreed to them) will be something that tells you that the flights are non refundable.

However what astounds me is that you were prepared, WHILST PREGNANT, to travel uninsured!

What would you have done if complications with your pregnancy had occurred whilst on Holiday?

richardw-Unfortuntately I don't which would have been the best way.

And HXDave, thanks for the concern but I was to get travel insurance before I went, but now this will not mean anything as they wont give me inusrance that covers a flight cancellation on a pre existing medical condition.

Given that one of Michael O'Leary's more famous quotes is "What part of no refund don't you understand? You are not getting a refund so f... off", I would hazard a guess that Ryanair don't do refunds.

I'm not intending to be disrepectful OP but at any point in the last 10 years that Ryanair have been highlighted in the press as being low-cost for a reason i.e. no changes/refunds/free slippers on board did it occur to you that your 99p + taxes may not give the same flexibility as a £600 BA open return ?

p.s. I'm sure you paid more than 99p but the principle is the same
