Suspending phone contract while on tour?

What happens though if someone has a very long posting abroard?

we supended my husbands contract with vodafone for 6 months, the tours are longer than 6 months - Vodafone made it clear that 6 months was the maximum we could suspend the contract for

It is worth noting that many "advisors" in call centres say no when they dont know and a second opinion is always advisable.

To be fair to said advisors they are expected to know everything and work in ridiculous conditions....modern day sweat shops!

Thank you for that. My son is off to Afghan in September and has to sort his phone out when he comes on leave at the end of this week.

Disturbance allowance is meant to cover things like having to cancel contracts.

Managed to get my husbands contract with voda suspended for 2yrs of our cyprus posting. They can only do in 6 month stints so we've been asked to call every 6 months to further extend.

I am with Orange and they suspended it on a phone call whilt one of my blokes needed me to write a letter confirming he was off on Det but then he is with O2.
