Suspending phone contract while on tour?

Options
My little bro is due to go to Afghan beginning of Sept for 6 months. He has rung O2 and they said that they cant suspend his contract so he will have to pay it.... is there anyway round it?

He is only asking that the 6 months get tagged on the end so his contract is 2 years and not 18 months.... I think it is a joke! They will still get their money!!!

Idiots!

Not sure why the attitude is needed!! He didnt know he would be going on tour so soon, his dates got changed.

I asked a question, if you dont have an answer, then go away.

Public forum, he knew he was in the forces, pretty sure he knew he was liable for tours. He signed a contract and now he is trying to change it.
Not my fault you and your brother have trouble understanding things.

Does he know you are compromising persec by posting about it here?

    I am not comprimising anything.

If you must know, his grilfriends contract is due to end in february, so she was going to take over his contract then.

It isnt a public forum for abuse and sarcasm, it is for advise and help. Non of which you have provided.

I don't have to know, thanks. He signed a contract he is stuck with it. If he is in the forces he knows things can change at very very short notice (without regard to your mobile phone contract). I don't see what his problem is or yours TBH.

A soldier on O2 is going on tour. Shock horror, hardly the security leak of the century.

you would be surprised how little things add up and someone loses there EPV and career path because of little things.

If some phone companies have an existing system for dealing with an exceptional circumstance, why not others? I'm pretty sure Watchdog dealt with this topic, and discovered a noticeable variation in the way different phone companies dealt with the situation.
Personal security?! Take that up with the 1001 squaddies who have an open fb profile, eh?

Yep, I was sent a watchdog link, my bro rung them and he was told that they were more than happy to help. At the end of the call, the girl said to him, I hope you come back home! He found it hilarious!I think she meant to say 'safe and sound' at the end! hahaha!
