Must say I personally wouldn't like ivory suits BUT I do think he should get to choose what he wears. If he said he liked brides in short dresses and you were planning long, would you honestly change just for him? And if you really don't want them clashing with you, why don't you put your bridesmaids in colour rather than ivory? The fact there'll be ivory dresses in addition to yours rather weakens your argument there I'm afraid. Tbh I don't see why you think the limelight will be stolen from you...you said yourself that you only ever look at the bride and the groom and best man doesn't get a second glance.
Just because most women probably do most of the organising doesn't mean they should, there's a lot of women moan their OHs aren't interested so be grateful you've got one who wants to take an active part in so much. It is his day as much as yours - let him have his stuff to enjoy too
ETA: only just seen the last few comments, PC had frozen - glad you're sorted now

Well me and H2B had a chat last night and he said he just thought the ivory suits would have been nice but he will go with the grey as decided originally.so glad thats all sorted now

I fully get how you've been feeling. My OH is wearing a Kilt (we're not Scottish) and the colours are grey, blue and green in it. My favourite colour is yellow and I'm marrying at Easter so I would have loved using fresh bright colours
It was causing a lot of arguments as I stated he wasn't wearing one but my mum had to remind me it was his day too and I had to include him in it.
I know your OH is going along with what you want, but I think you could have compromised with him. Surely the BM's could have wore gold with ivory sashes instead or there was other alternatives to allow him the freedom to make a decision on his own.
Remember he may not like your dress, and has no say in it. I know what my OH likes and dislikes on me and will be very careful choosing a dress that will please him as much as me.
Oh your BIL is an eejit and needs to be placed at a table as far away from you as possible at your wedding!0 -

Maybe a tad bridezillaGooglewhacker wrote: »So basically what you are saying is its any colour as long as its grey and really its not both of you deciding, it is you being bridezilla over it?
I understand your reasoning for not wanting black but black can also be used in a celebration as well as mourning.
I have good reasons for no black,i lost my grandad farely recently, its still very raw as we was close,he paid a huge part in my life so thats why i have stated no black:(0
