Personally, I think that two much ivory would look a bit silly!
Obviously, I don't know the situation for real - but it could be that it started as a joke which has now gone wrong.
If you'd agreed on the grey suits before, I'm sure that's what they will end up wearing.
I think you two just need a friendly chat and cuddle together and you'll be fine.0 -

I totally agree with you Hollie, ignore the criticism. Despite what people think no-one talks about what the groom is wearing as much as the brides outfit. A lot more though has gone into your outfit and the BMs and unless you are getting married somewhere hot to have the men in ivory suits is just weird. It would look really odd if it was tipping it down with rain on the day!
A really soft grey (ie not dark grey) with ivory waistcoat and cravat could look good. I have also seen pale beige suits for men as well.
I gave my hubby carte blanche on the suits and I didnt know what he had chosen until the day when my dad arrived in his! I was worried that he would go for a colour that would clash with the BMs (in sage) but he chose cream waistcoats and cravats with a grey suit. Looked really good and classic.0 -

i to said about the rain.
we agreed grey with ivory with gold waist coat and gold/ivory cravat, very traditional and nice. And yes all eyes are usually on the bride,i dont ever take a second look at the groom, best man etc at a wedding i always look and think how beautiful the bride looks, altho saying that my OH very rarely wears suits unless for a wedding/funeral so i think people will take a little more notice as to how smart he looks

has your H2B had any input into what you and your bridesmaids are wearing? If so the it's reasonable that you have an input into their clothing, but if not....0

The important thing is to talkcalmly with your H2B about why you'd prefer them in grey.
Try not to things like "I don't want the limelight taken away from my dress".
He wants you to be happy on your wedding day, but I know things can get heated and stressed in all the excitement.0 -
Why would theywant Ivory suits?
Are you getting married abroad?
I had the same problem we had provsionally chosen grey suits (not tails). I dropped H2B and stepdad off at Tailors and they come back with we've chosen 'dark grey tails with black pin stripe trousers'. This after all the fuss of 'I don't want to wear black or tails and I hate pin stripe'.
All I can same is typical Men! They are worse than women and I can safely say this as I work in a male dominated industry and they are all the same!Turning our clutter to top up our house deposit: £3000/£303.05 we're on our way!0 -
you could show him this...

I'd be freaking out Hollie right now, so totally with you! I think you should have imput into their suits, we have, my OH tried to go off the track and get black suits till I had to remind him of our Brown theme. I think the fact your BIL is sticking his nose in is just to stir, after all, do blokes really care that much about colours? Mine doesnt, more the fit and how he feels in it. Have a word again with your OH and tell him how much your BIL upset you. I bet he doesnt realise how much it hurt you.
Totally agree on too much Ivory though, stick to your guns hon and big squidges xx:grouphug:Married the lovely Mr P 28th April 2012. Little P born 29th Jan 20140
