I have no idea, his best man said they look bling and would stand out.nope no wedding abroadWhy would theywant Ivory suits?
Are you getting married abroad?
I had the same problem we had provsionally chosen grey suits (not tails). I dropped H2B and stepdad off at Tailors and they come back with we've chosen 'dark grey tails with black pin stripe trousers'. This after all the fuss of 'I don't want to wear black or tails and I hate pin stripe'.
All I can same is typical Men! They are worse than women and I can safely say this as I work in a male dominated industry and they are all the same!
I think after me mentioning it they will go with the grey0 -
 total bridezilla moment,id be in meltdownyou could show him this...

Thank you so much.yes he wasn't overly interested in the colour when first discussed just as long as he got the right colour waistcoat and cravat, think the fact my BIL stirred and his BM mentioned it swayed him,he sometimes spends to much time listening to outsiders rather than thinking about what he really wants.to soft.im pretty sure after sunday he will go with the grey as he knows how upset i was,i felt like i was in an interorgation (sp) room that day,and thats no joke,it was pick on hollie hr:(I'd be freaking out Hollie right now, so totally with you! I think you should have imput into their suits, we have, my OH tried to go off the track and get black suits till I had to remind him of our Brown theme. I think the fact your BIL is sticking his nose in is just to stir, after all, do blokes really care that much about colours? Mine doesnt, more the fit and how he feels in it. Have a word again with your OH and tell him how much your BIL upset you. I bet he doesnt realise how much it hurt you.
Totally agree on too much Ivory though, stick to your guns hon and big squidges xx:grouphug:
My mum has said to ignore them but its hard when u want everything to be perfect and u have others sticking there nose in x0 -

Hi Hollie,
I think the comment about your weight was totally out of order & if you are a size 10 then i'm sure there is no need for you to be loosing weight. Sounds like your BIL was just trying to get at you. As to the colour of suits I've not seen many in ivory over here, abroad yes. You have got me thinking though as i'm in ivory & H2B & BM & my dad are supposed to have ivory too.
Hope you get it sorted & wow you are very organised have it all booked:DMarried the man of my dreams - 10th September 2012, St Paul's Bay Lindos :jIt was amazing.

Yes im very OCD when it comes to organised as people keep telling me and i get oh i can't believe you have your dress already lol

Perhaps they just really liked the look of the ivory suits. Your OH could always have an ivory suit to match you and then the groomsmen could wear a grey / black type suit. I recently went to a wedding where the groom wore an ivory suit to match the bride.
My OH picked the colour for our wedding - I figured he was going to be the only one of the two of us wearing a colour (me being in ivory) so he should have the choice. It just so happened that we both liked burgundy. I do hate it when brides make their grooms wear pink
Anyway, originally he was going to pick out his suit by himself so I would be surprised on the day but instead he asked me to go with him once he'd picked out his favourites. He went with a grey suit with burgundy waistcoat and cravat for the groomsmen and an ivory waistcoat and cravat for him (to match me).
Maybe you should go shopping for suits with him (just you and him) so you can find out why he really likes the ivory and what you both like. If you are worried about being lost amongst the wedding party then I would say that you and the groom should be in ivory and the bridesmaids should wear a colour.0 -
Well me and H2B had a chat last night and he said he just thought the ivory suits would have been nice but he will go with the grey as decided originally.so glad thats all sorted now0
