Screenwash that actually works?

None will. Using polish on the windscreen and having decent wipers will help more than screen wash.
Wipers are decent and nearly brand new on both cars. No polish because I don't like the beading effect it creates with water - wipers are there to remove water, not some polish.gilbert_and_sullivan wrote: »Lidl's 1:100 screenwash, not their anti freeze wash stuff which is blue and also excellent, much stronger than the carp sold elsewhere.
Comes in small, possibly 500ml bottles, either yellow or green, lemon or apple flavour respectively...not as you'll be drinking it.

Is this something thats available all year round or just when they have specials on?Strider590 wrote: »Clean the screen fully with a damp tea towel, then use a degreasing window cleaner and then apply Rain-X.... No more bug's for a good few months
No rain-x for the same reasons as above. That and I don't care much for their support of Brake.0 -

My local one has them available for months at a time, i imagine they get a large delivery every quarter or so, all you can do is pop in when you see one.
Best stuff i've ever put in a washer bottle.0 -

A capful in your washer bottle will make short work of the fly squash, only stuff i've found to be any good, though to be fair all household chemicals Lidl sell are good and fairly priced.
Incidentally, make a bucketful up for general house window cleaning, leaves the windows spotless.
+1.
Used this for nearly 3 years and still the best I've found...and helps that its cheap! What is pi? Where did it come from?0 -
"For hands that do dishes to feel soft a these.....use mild green fairy....." ..well has worked for decades on a fleet doing "night runs" north to south and back0

Hi, to get bugs etc. off your windscreen you should be using the wash/wipers as soon as the bugs/flies hit it otherwise they will harden and you should then be regularly washing the windscreen.
The AA recommend rubbing the windsreen with vinegar to thoughly degrease it !!
I agree with your comment 'wipers are there to remove water' and as such any screenwash can only have any effect if used immediately.
It can't do the wipers any good rubbing across hardened bugs !!0 -
Vinegar is good, smelly but good, clean your blades as well cuts down on wiper judder a hell of a lot.0

You shouldn't use Fairy liquid as it destroys your paintwork.Estate Agent, Web Designer & All Round Geek!0

What would you recommend for this ?
Left the car for an hour to find this baked onto the screen , new wipers and cheapo screenwash wouldn't touch it.

Sounds like a good idea but there always seems to be police there. I went there today , looked up and there were two sky rats ( gulls ) circling the car park.0
