Trying to create fun inexpensive things to do with GF but she wont cooperate

We have done it all i think. Board games, made up games, TV, DVD, the old pick a number from 1 - 50 and watch the film on the sky anytime . . and then i found a great thing to do.

I found a trading card game called Magic the Gatheing(MTG) and for around £15 you get about 200 cards and the idea is you build a deck of 60 from them (also ebayed this and found you can get loads of these cards cheap, even 60 deck pre built decks) and then you play it like top trumps. Loads of replayability and an element of chance but immense customisation. Its just a game really and something we can do together . . . . the problem is she wont play it or give it a chance. we are talking about someone here who played more WOW than i did after i introduced her to that. I even went and got the online version(MTGO) of the game and for a few quid you can replicate your real cards . .. but she doesnt want to know and wont even try it out. Its getting me a bit annoyed at the moment as she wont do anything i suggest and this i thought was a really good activity . . anyone else played this or suggest any thing we can do while we simply dont have £50 a pop to go out for meal and drinks

    Can't say I blame her

God I'm even bored reading you OP ...Sorry but you seem to be lacking a little imagination ...

Why not cook her a meal & buy some wine . Go for a long walk & have a picnic . Get an orange Wednesday code and see a film or play tennis in the local park.

You need to use you imagination ..anything accept cards ( hint hint ) :)

Sorry, have to agree that sounds really, really dull. Might be fun if you're a twelve year old, but as a 'fun thing to do with your girlfriend', well I'd rather stick pins in my eyes.

Your ideas do sound a little lacking in romance.

As already said, cook a meal, picnic in the country or a local park. Find a nice area and go for a walk. If you want something you do more often why not see if shares an activity you both enjoy like cycling, running or dancing lessons.

    Card games are just NO.

You could try naked hide and seek in the woods, thats quite a good game that I like !
  • Oh bless you, my husband wants us to play chess - I don't know how to play but he wants to teach me and it makes my eyes roll just thinking about it. I know you don't have money to go out but make the girl feel special, nice meal now and again nice music bottle of wine and some cuddles :)

There is one really inexpensive thing to do with your girlfriend that you all seem to have overlooked. If you need me to tell you what that is then you seriously need help my old son.

The OP's post is just wrong.

Don't be wondering in 3 months why she moved on.

From his post he's quite clearly an keen gamer, but seriously mate when it comes to the good lady ditch trying to get her into games and join her in some other interests. You don't need to spend money, a great day out just requires the right company.
