Have you tried Hoseasons. They do many Log Cabin breaks with hot tubs on the verandas. We stayed in one for 4 nights in April near Norfolk and it was lovely.
If you look on their site you can find some really good deals for out of season breaks.
The site we stayed near Norfolk was amazing, so peaceful and the lodge was stunning. I think it cost us £180 for 4 nights including a welcome pack (including home made jam, biscuits etc).
I had never thought of Hoseasons for this kind of break but would definately recommend it now.
Hope this helps

I'm currently using the wifi in one of these places:

It's bliss. A tiny park in the middle of nowhere, no motorway roaring behind in the distance, and most importantly no chavvy kids whatsoever (but I have the Vikingettes to inflict on other residents).

A couple of years ago we stayed at Eye Kettleby lakes (near to Melton Mowbray) - it was fantastic the cabin was perfect and right on the edge of lake, with an outdoor hot tub. Some of the cabins had sauna's inside. The staff were wonderful came and showed us how to use the hot tub and arrived every day to check the cleanliness of the water in it.Fibro-Warrior0

We once stayed at Griffon Forest (a lodge park near York, I think you can book through Hoseasons although we booked direct) ... never again, definitely not recommendedThrifty Till 50 Then Spend Till the End
You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time but you can never please all of the people all of the time0 -

We just got back on Monday from Woodland Park Lodges in Ellesmere in Shropshire.
www.woodlandparklodges.co.uk
Cabins were fantastic and 3 of them have hot-tubs, we didn't get one with a hot tub as I am heavily pregnant and wouldn't be able to use it.
Cabins were only opened this year and are very well equipped, just about every kitchen utensil you can think of, washing machines and dishwashers, decked area with BBQ, comfy sofas etc etc.
It is located on a farm and is very secluded.
It was about a 20 minute drive to Shrewsbury which is a lovely place.
No idea if there is anything like Go Ape nearby but would definitely recommend the cabins, and I am sure you would find lots to do as you are right on the border between Shropshire and North Wales.
We paid £500 for 3 nights, but that is peak season, I think it starts at about £200 for a 3 night break in the winter season.0 -

We stayed at the Ramshorn Woodland Lodges - about 5 mins from Alton Towers. I'd highly recommend it. We went in the Oct half term & it was fab sitting in the hot tub in the cold weather! There's a log burning fire inside which kept my hubbie occupied for the week! The lodge is a very high standard and the kids loved building in the woods.0
