I want an Iphone!

OK so I currently have a Blackberry, which has been fine until I dropped it last week and broke the screen- now unfixable! I don't need an Iphone, but I really really want one! As I have 8 months left on my contract (£15 per month) I went to Phones 4U to see about buy outs.. they have offered to buy out my contract (£120) if I pay £169 for the Iphone on a £30 a month deal. What do you think? I'm tempted to wait and see what happens with prices of Iphones during September as I understand the new Iphone 5 is due to launch in october...Is there a better deal out there? Should I wait? Advice please money saving peeps :) xx

    No they won't.

Apple don't discount to sell products when they change. Look back at the 4 launch, the 16 and 32 GB 3GS were recalled and the 8GB 3GS appeared. Cheaper price point but not the same phone.

Most likely the 4 will get at most a £100 drop and less memory as the 5 becomes the standard.

If it's just a broken screen, why is it 'unfixable'?
A new screen should be a simple repair.

I've got an iPhone and I must say I couldn't be happier! I did have Samsung Tocco, which just doesn't come close to my iPhone, although maybe if it was the pink one it might be a little better!

The 3GS white 32GB went to Three mobile who off loaded very cheaply, £129 upfront then £25 for 300 mins, 3000 texts and 1GB data. Went very quickly. I had the choice but foolishly went for the Black 8GB (Durr) at the same price

True, I just don;t expect there to be a huge price drop of a half.

Maybe but the point is they don't get these massive price reductions like half off. Thye may be sold cheaply throuygh contracts but not direct. It's not Apples style to reduce stock prices to clear items, they simply recall it and use it for warranty repairs/replacements. If they discounted phones greatly they'd hit the iPod market.
