I refilled the toner cartridge that came with the printer and it only worked for a short while before becoming streaky. The instructions that came with the refill toner said the starter cartridge couldn't be refilled even though it was fairly easy to do so perhaps that's why. I think I've read elsewhere that refilling the starter cartridge doesn't work but subsequent ones are ok. I splashed out on an original replacement for £35 in the end.
Like Maniac, my prints are fading on one side of the page even after a refill.
Done abit of research and found here http://www.consumablecafe.co.uk/acatalog/FAQ.html which states using the toner save function causes fading even after refill due to the buildup of toner on the blades. Their solution is to clean the wiper and doctor blades and empty the waste toner compartment. However they don't give a step by step guidance on where these items can be accessed from apart from removing a few screws.
