Advice for replacement of old boiler

Hi,
Looking for some advice from all you helpful experts on what to do about our antiquated boiler.
We have an Ideal Mexico RS65, installed in 1985 for a four bed detached house with one bath and shower (although may extend and add a second shower in the future).
We also have a 'Primatic' system (or so I am told by previous heating engineers). I believe this is an older style of system that removed the need for a separate feed/expansion tank in the loft - and replaces this with a more complex hot water tank in the airing cupboard.
The system generally works fine - radiators take a little while to heat up in winter, but otherwise OK. My main concern is the poor efficiency of the system, especially with the upcoming increase in gas prices.
I have considered a number of options :
1) Leave well alone and do nothing
2) Replace the system with a condensing combi. Remove the hot water cylinder and cold water tank. We have a power shower at present and I believe this would also need to be replaced if switching to a combi ?
3) Replace the boiler with a similar non-combi boiler and keep the rest of the system the same. Not sure if this will be possible with the Primatic cylinder ? Is it worth also replacing the cylinder and adding a feed/expansion tank ?
I have also come across info on pressurised unvented systems and all sorts of other weird andd wonderful things - and am not really sure which way to go. At some point I will certainly get quotes from GasSafe registered local engineers - but would like some idea of what I am talking about to reduce the risk of getting bamboozled.
Any tips gratefully recevied.
