WE "do not" BUY.COM (CEX)

I tried using webuy.com otherwise known as CEX

What a performance!
  • The instructions to mail your phone arent clear and dont include the address
  • They tested my perfectly working perfect phone as faulty and said it wouldnt even boot up
  • They then kept all my accessories and returned just my phone!
My phone was still in perfect working order and I have traded it in with Fonebank..no problem at all

When I complained to webuy (CEX) about them keeping my accessories, they sent me a voucher for £5 to use on their site - as if!
I have complained yet again.......watch this space. What a bunch of cowboys - cant even test a phone correctly by switching it on and waiting for it to boot up!
Clearly they have not improved and I would steer away from them. Fonebank have been efficient and professional!

    why did you send them the accessories in the first place?
  • Everywhere i look people are kicking off about cex, i recently collected all my old games, original xbox and and other bits and sold them to CEX. It was a large heavy box which cost over ten quid to deliver to then. Small price to pay as the contents were valued at nearly £200. I decided to go with the CEX vouchers since you get more for your items than cash. This was six weeks ago, i had a couple items returned but am still owed about £180. I have e-mailed them nearly every day and every time i do i get someone new telling me a different story. One says my payment was sent by post mid-july but def wasn't, second says the voucher was e-mailed to me 29th July and to check my junk and spam. I did all this but again, no sign. The third person said it had been sent this monday in the post and my post just arrived today (Friday) still nothing. Now the fact that i keep getting told different things and not receiving payment is really starting to frustrate me but there doesn't seem to be a number for a head office anywhere to complain.

    No response to any emails I send them.
    The very first and only response simply told me they did not recieve my goods. This is very convenient, and seems an inherent problem with CEX.
    I simply do not believe it is that difficult. I used their prepaid envelope so why would I have sent it registered post (as asked by their customer services??).
    I sent three phones for them to test and pay me and they have not received them.
    AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS.

    Envirofone no problem whatsoever (should have stuck with them).

    Never used CEX for phone but sell them games all the time. No issues and a PDF voucher usually arrived in the next days email ather they get the game.

    I've used CEX on several occasions and while they are sometimes a bit tardy when it comes to processing sales, I've yet to have an issue.

    My most recent sale to them was an old but pristine iPhone 3G still with it's box and accessories. CEX paid almost double what anyone else was willing to pay (cash not vouchers).
  • Oh thanks for sharing! I was planning to sell an old iPhone 3GS with them however Im more prone to taking it in store rather than sending it through the post - atleast I can be valued or take my items there and then. Still yet to check their estimates ...
