12.75kg at B and M for £4.99......this was last month.
The one I got from either Hb or B&M (can't remember which) went mouldy really quickly. Wouldn't use it again.

I get my fat balls, mealworms & suet pellets from home bargains. I don't bother with peanuts anymore as never got touched - but since I've been putting suet pellets with the mesh feeders I've noticed some long tailed tits have started visiting, which is a first for my garden.

I get my bird seed in bulk from a local pet supply warehouse, as I can get a 12.5kg bag for £13.99 I think it is, a no mess mix (makes a mess but at least it doesn't sprout in the borders anymore lol), and it even has dried mealworms in it too so quite good value and the birds make quick work of it. Definitely worth shopping around to get the best price, but also a good quality seed :)

  • hi, I found this new website at the weekend called gardenwildlifedirect.co.uk. Might be worth a look as they seem to do better quality products the birds like at reasonable prices.

I bet you don't work for them at all James!
  • Our birds are very hungry now and are relying on us for food.
We also get all of our bird food from Home Bargains as it's so much cheaper.
Now thanks to Tommix & Queen Bear, now Lady Westy of Woodpecker :)

Yes I have noticed that Westy. Every morning i put up my home made fat balls and they are literally devoured by the end of the day. In fact i think the main culprits are starlings who come back repeatedly for more helpings. In last weeks bird watch in an hour i counted 43, although i now suspect i may have counted the same ones twice!

I use various country stores - ones which sell agricultural stuff. Got the huge bags of sunflower seeds and hearts (25kg?) for about £25.00 each.
