Why? Have Burberrys shares taken a tumble? I thought they had posted good profits for this year.0 -
Sorry, but these criminal thugs are committing acts likely to result in death or serious injury to others.
So we counter this by actually killing them, just in case?
What a load of crap.0 -

If these rioters broke into my house, killed my dog or attacked my wife and set my house on fire I would not try and kill them but I would be fighting them. In that scenario it is not impossible that they (or indeed myself) might end up dead or seriously injured, but if you think running away is the answer that is your call, it would not be my choice though. Because after my house they would just move onto another, it might even be your house next.Chuck Norris can kill two stones with one birdThe only time Chuck Norris was wrong was when he thought he had made a mistakeChuck Norris puts the "laughter" in "manslaughter".I've started running again, after several injuries had forced me to stop0 -

NO! We go in hard and if someone dies that is tragic, but it shouldn't stop us going in hard, this has to stop, what do you propose? To ask them nicely to stop?Chuck Norris can kill two stones with one birdThe only time Chuck Norris was wrong was when he thought he had made a mistakeChuck Norris puts the "laughter" in "manslaughter".I've started running again, after several injuries had forced me to stop0 -

But we're not talking about the same thing. With the exception of one poor woman whose flat was burned out, I've not heard of a single home being attacked (whether directly, or inadvertantly).
I'd do the same as you in my home. But we're not talking about homes, we're talking about high street shops with insurance. Not worth shooting people over.We go in hard and if someone dies that is tragic, but it shouldn't stop us going in hard, this has to stop, what do you propose?
Once again you are being incredibly selective in quoting me. I've already said I have no issue with using rubber bullets/baton charges etc. on people attacking police and businesses. What I take issue with is your throwaway comment that we don't bother our !!!!!! to investigate if people end up getting killed.
It's perfectly possible to 'go in hard' without suddenly becoming blase to people being shot - even if they are moronic thugs.0 -

But if people die that's a whole different kettle of fish and fair and transparent investigation would be vital to try and prevent it happening again. If the 'few deaths' were policemen, would you just say 'ah well, it was a riot, these things happen'?
The scum have a choice, they can sod off home and not get shot. The cops dont have that choice.
Much harder police response needed.0 -

So it's OK to rob and destroy places as long as they are insured then?0 -

You are saying exactly the same as me then, there is a significant risk of death in using rubber bullets/baton charges and that reaction is what I would like to see.
The law would require some sort of investigation if a death ocurred but I think the police should be given the benefit of the doubt when they too are in a life or death situation. The police are not there by choice, they are protecting USChuck Norris can kill two stones with one birdThe only time Chuck Norris was wrong was when he thought he had made a mistakeChuck Norris puts the "laughter" in "manslaughter".I've started running again, after several injuries had forced me to stop0 -

Erm... So all the flats above shops in Croydon high street are not homes.
The 20 odd flats above the carpet right in Tottenham...
Various other reports of houses being broken into, windows smashed above shops etc.
And so what if the shops have insurance. The scum doing this do not need to be handled gently, batton rounds and water cannons would be a much better police response.
Hit them hard.0 -

I did say 'I've not heard'. I never claimed to be all-knowing!0
