so no investigations into whether they went too far etc in the event of few deaths
I couldn't disagree more. Baton charges and rubber bullets - fair enough if people are pelting bricks at you. But if people die that's a whole different kettle of fish and fair and transparent investigation would be vital to try and prevent it happening again. If the 'few deaths' were policemen, would you just say 'ah well, it was a riot, these things happen'?0 -

These scum are nowhere near equal to policeman. We need to come down hard on these criminals now.Chuck Norris can kill two stones with one birdThe only time Chuck Norris was wrong was when he thought he had made a mistakeChuck Norris puts the "laughter" in "manslaughter".I've started running again, after several injuries had forced me to stop0 -

I'm not saying we should give them a cuddle and send them on their way, but a life is a life and I don't believe we're ever right to take those unless we're at war.0 -

Who do you propose carries out the relative valuation of human life?0 -

If things keep going the way they are that's looking like a reasonable bid for Bank of America!0 -
Agreed - especially with respect to the looting. Seeing all those getting away with the stash from the Tottenham retail park (away from the riots) on the first night whilst the police were busy elsewhere obviously put an idea in to many people's heads.Radiantsoul wrote: »I think the coverage by the conventional mass media has probably fuelled the rioting.I think....0

I am not saying try and kill people I am saying go in hard, and if someone dies it is a terrible thing but accepting the risk of that happening is better than standing back and letting the rioters do as they wish. We have to let them know that they can't do what they want without consequences.

The world would definately be a better place without many of these people. Turn up at a riot wearing a mask and you should be fair game.0

All the rioters should be invited to a special mega Jeremy Kyle special held at Wembley stadium. Have 2,000 rioters and their partners sat on chairs in the middle.
I haven't worked out how they incorporate the mandatory DNA test though, hmm..0 -

Sorry, but these criminal thugs are committing acts likely to result in death or serious injury to others.
I think the Police (and indeed, private property owners) would be wholly justified in using deadly force to stop them in their tracks.
And any investigation into that should be cursory at best.“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.
Belief in myths allows the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought.”
