When I was 11 I could dismantle, service and reassemble a bike. Adjusting seat and handlebar height (and making sure they were all secure) was (and still is) a piece of p***. But then there was no such thing as Xbox or TV in your bedroom when I was 11. :rotfl:0

At that age we used to go round to all the places locally where people tended to fly-tip and collect all the parts necessary to build bikes. Then if something broke we'd just scrounge around for replacements.
For some strange reason, the hardest part to find was a seat!
We also used to ride them in a nearby pasture field to learn how well to ride them and how they handled before ever taking them onto the road. Mostly because falling off, (or a wheel falling off) didn't hurt so much!Hi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there. Gotta say, this thread brings out alot of memories of childhood.
I bet every single person here not only fell of their bike but fell out of a tree, got injured during a conker fight, crashed whilst on a sledge with just a small gap at the bottom and barbed wire both sides :O
Oh I miss those days!!0 -
I got taken to hospital every week because I kept falling off bikes, kitchen worktops etc, at some point social services were called out because they thought my family were causing it!:)0

Did you or the child carry out the safety checks outlined in the instructions before riding the bike?
Thought not.:doh::doh:Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

would you drive a car away from the showroom without a door, then make a claim to say that you never put your belt on while turning and fell out.
Now you mention it, lol :rotfl:Iva started Dec 2018.0
