Contract question-Regarding 3

hey long time lurker first time poster. I took out a contract with 3 in december 2010. I then paid it off regularly for a couple of months but the due to financial reasons (I became homeless) I wasnt able to pay it. I have just found the old sim card whilst I was clearing up and found that I was able to get to 3. despite everything else being blocked. I spoke to them and asked how much I owe (£96) and told them that I would pay them on Wed.
They said if I payed they would lift my block and I would be able to use the sim again as I have 5 months left on my contract.
My question is if I pay regularly for 5 months will I be able to renew my contract? I am not fussed about an upgrade.
