£10 is good for this time of day. How about after the delivery comes, you take yourself out or a wee walk in the air, blow some cobwebs away. Just for a half hour or so ?Its just a bad day, Not a bad life .. :cool:0

Going well Helen. You could take a walk for half-an-hour as Mara says, or if you feel you need it to get through the night, perhaps a half-hour power nap after the delivery arrives???:money:0

That's not a bad idea actually....Or maybe go into the Communal Garden and sit and relax for half an hour with a good Book....Hmmmm food for thought!! Depends on what time the Delivery comes but I'll definitely have a think about that one...PestoPasta wrote: »Going well Helen. I can't do half-hour Power Naps as they make me more tired than when I started....But a Walk is definitely a great idea....
I'm up to £12 so far....Not sure I'm going to get to £17 but I'll give it a damn good try....and going to stay on until 1.45pm....0 -

You are more than Welcome to Join me hun!! Pull up a Chair and put the Sunglasses on and relax....
I'm currently reading all of the Harry Potter Books again...I'm on Goblet of Fire at the moment....I LOVE them....they really were inspired writing....
Grrrrr....Only about £2.50 to go....And I've got to Log Off soon...0 -
Well I ended this morning on £280 rather than the £282 that I wanted....so that's not bad for a Daytime Shift...although we DO get paid more at the Weekends so I can't complain!!
Just waiting for my Tesco Delivery now.....Hope it's sooner rather than later and then I think I might sit out in the Garden and read a book for half an hour....
Speak to you all later on xXx0 -
Something else that occurred to me.
All this is very good practice for when you qualify and start work as a psychotherapist particularly if you are going to be self employed. You can hardly ring and cancel a client because you're tired or can't be bothered can you?
So maybe that would be a good way of looking at it for you. It's a short term thing until you start a new job that will pay better and I am assuming be more fulfilling for you.0 -

That's a VERY good point!! I definitely can't cancel Clients if I'm tired or can't be bothered.....If I'm unreliable for Clients then they won't bother coming back and I'll lose money....
I can't wait to be a Psychotherapist....It's been my dream since I was 16....I just have to get there....and this is the way I have CHOSEN to get there....so I'm going to make the most of it...
Just waiting for my Tesco Delivery....Looks like they are going to be late....It's nearly 3pm and they were supposed to be here by 3pm at the latest....so looks like I might need to Call the Customer Services to find out where they are!! Mind you...the last time I did that I ended up getting a Discount Voucher for next time because they were late....so it's worth doing...
Chat to you all later on xXx0 -
Hi Helen! :hello:
Thanks for coming by my diary, I've just been having a good read of yours and can emphasise so much. I spent 3 years working on the 'lines' around my full time job when my debt was at its worst and it can be pretty soul destroying at times.
The calls didn't bother me and I often had some really interesting (and normal) chats. What got me was how erratic it is was, how your sleeping pattern gets messed up and your social life suffers as the most calls are on weekends. Plus those same four walls all the time :wall:.
I'd second the advice on filling your downtime between calls on anything you can, surveys, texting, clicks, dooyoo, swagbucks etc. If your crafty could you try making things for a little etsy shop or the occasional craft fair?
If I was to ever do it again (and I might while I get my business fully up and running). I'd make the calls part of the wider work so if I sit down to do a 7 hour shift, it'd be 7 hours of calls, crafting, all the little extras above. Its less soul destroying and you've made money in other ways too. I always found doing something between calls rather than twiddling your thumbs keeps your mind clear so your calls are better and you make more money.
Also, try and get consistent with the hours you work, you will build the most amounts of regulars that way as they'll know your schedule. When I started Uni (and my debt was manageable) I worked 2 weekday days and 1 evening at weekend. The weekday days were slow at first but I soon built up a good stable of regulars which were all long calls and you build up a good rapport as they're not drunk so involve a lot of easy chit chat. I was earning a good amount each week and it was so much easier physically and mentally.
You can do this! I've got faith in you.
