I cant decide if I find some of the responses are pretty offensive to Scottish people actually. Shame some people are so rude

There's 2 that come across as mild joshing about the perceived Scottish diet. I don't think many could be offended by them, they're definitely not rude.

Oh do I not pay tax & NI? I best speak to someone at work then to find out where that huge chunk of my wages goes each month.......

At the end of the day, you've been paying less than the rest of the UK for your shopping & now you're going to have to pay the same. That seems entirely fair to me!

I think the point of the post was, the fees etc are paid out of taxes. It could be done in England too, but the government opt to not do it.

As for TESCO it seems fair to me. Some areas are more impoverished and hence price differences. I was gutted sainsbury doubled the price of their cornflakes from 30p to 60p overnight. Only it appears as they were selling so well.

I wonder if they did this everywhere. I thought years ago there used to be a rule about prices rises, you could only raise prices by a max amount. 100% overnight is rather crazy. I say this as it means there is no value in going for them now, I might as well buy normal brands.

No, volume is volume. Switching from an expensive product to a cheaper alternative does not effect volume.

I still don't get it - microchips swapped for fresh carrots? Or packet cauliflower cheese swapped for homemade? I don't see volume as being a particularly useful measure in wither of those circumstances. I don't trust compound statistics at face value!
