3g/mobile broadband on PAYG

Does anyone know if it's possible to buy a Pay As You Go dongle that has no time limit on when you use the data? Vodafone and o2 appear to be 30 day limit, so if you buy e.g. 1 gig then you only have 30 days to use it, which is a bit mean. The PAYG phones don't work in this way, why is it like that with data?!

Of course you can, look here

If too rich for your blood, 3UK have 3GB/3month & 12GB/12 months options from around £10 & £55 respectively.

SIM from one of the previous modems. Yes, eBay vendor is legit.

Bought one from them a while ago, when they were more plentiful and considerably cheaper.

You should still connect to the Internet at least once every 180 days in order to keep the SIM active.

Id hardly call somebody offering 1gb of data for £49.99 legit.

considering you can get 24gb from three over the space of a year for a 11 quid extra

Perhaps you missed that I had already written something to that effect.
But that isn't what the OP asked.

...and yes, the eBayer is legit. It's called supply and demand.
No one is forced to buy it at that price. They buy it if they want that particular SIM/package.
I bought one from the same supplier when they were plentiful and paid only £7.95.
They supplied the item ordered and it has not been reported stolen, so that makes them 'legit' to me.

Even the 3GB/3 month 3UK SIMs have gone from £7 to £13. Does that mean those sellers are not legitimate?

The OP asked and received an answer.

Paying £5.11 a month for occasional Internet usage is not a great deal either and certainly does not offer a solution to the OP.

A better solution for occasional use would be Pay As You Use or the 3GB/3 Month 3UK SIM.

T-Mobile have a PAYG dongle that is £2/day, £7/week, £15/month to use where the credit doesn't expire. FUP is only 250MB/day, 500MB/week or 1GB/30 days but I've hammered it a few times and not noticed an impact. Handy if your usage profile is sporadic and heavy.

I label that Pay As You Use. The data expires but credit deposited against the SIM does not, as long as you connect at least once every six months.
