When I applied for credit i'm getting referred then in most cases declined. Experian rep told me that my credit file has nothing adverse but it seems im in deep sh*t when I can even get a £500 credit card. Im sick and tired of being declined for credit EVERYWHERE!!!

If you get rejected for credit you shouldn't start applying all over the place - each search is recorded on your file so if you've applied to several companies over a short period it looks desperate to potential lenders.

You need to stop applying for credit for the time being if you want a chance of been able to get it! getmore4less has good advice.

You're not getting credit cards because you're 18 - pure and simple. People - particularly the young - need a reality check. Credit is not a right which is yours to take as soon as you're old enough. The world has changed backed to normalcy over the last couple of years - the right to a credit is something which should be earned over a period of time.

What on earth does an 18 year old need a credit card for? If you want something, save for it. If you want to pay online for something, use a debit card.

BTW how muchare you paying for the mobile? you should be looking at free/nearly free contracts.

    Noticed your sig.

    now that is funny.

£35 iPhone 4 32GB White - 2000 minuets, 5000 texts, unlimited data & more... I'm entitled to 30% off line rental at o2 but they excluded the iPhone 4 from this offer. I'm in the process of joining Apple at the moment, but because the DSG chain has a relationship with this company my contract states I cannot be paid whilst i'm in any sort of training program with Apple. Once I complete my move then finances will be back on track:)...without doubt
Banks: Barclays & Natwest - Overdraft: £10 :embarasse

  • Stop apply for credit! Everytime you get declined you look worse to lenders.

There is something incredibly depressing hearing people say that once they complete their move to a different provider to pay for their expensive luxury toy, their finances will be back on track.

If your iphone 4 account is the key driver of your financial well-being or otherwise, then god help you. You need to get your priorities sorted . .

Just finished College & working Part time. I should have no real financial priorities at my age, I just turned 18. This is my highest bill at £35 per month. All my money comes from my job & of course I get money off my parents. I'm now in the process of trying to build credit... That's why I wanted a credit card (Make small purchases then pay full amount each month)

For you to sit there and say..."There is something incredibly depressing hearing people say that once they complete their move to a different provider to pay for their expensive luxury toy, their finances will be back on track." is a little bit out of order. I was getting way more than most people my age would be getting at Currys. A move to Apple is more WAY more money and will look very good on my CV.

If you read the post correctly, my missed payments occurred because I'm in the middle of doing my Apple training & my current contract states I CANNOT BE PAID WHILST DOING ANY FORM OF TRAINING WITH A PARTNER COMPANY... **edit** Late payments rather than Missed payments..

A mobile phone is a priory for me, especially as I use my iphone for both business & social.

My apologies. I misread what you put and interpreted it wrongly.

    Mea culpa.
