Booking a 'package' with TravelRepublic

I'm looking at booking an Easyjet flight plus a hotel which works out slightly cheaper if I book the hotel only at TravelRepublic.co.uk and the flight direct with the airline.

Would there be any benefit in terms of protection if I bought them both together through TravelRepublic, or would flight+hotel not count as a package anyway?

Thanks for any advice.

If you want the benefit of a true package holiday with a holiday rep to sort things out for you if things went wrong, then book one with a tour operator. A flight+hotel with travelrepublic doesn't appear to be a true package holiday.

I think he means do you get the statutory protection you get from a package holiday, rather then the "benefit" of a rep. I'm pretty sure if you book them together with TR or any other site, then it is classed as a package holiday, but also bear in mind that you will get similar cover from a good insurance cover, plus the LC airlines now have to get you home and put you up in hotels etc if they have problems, so its upto you how much extra value you think it adds.

Btw, I realise that Travel Republic are one of the cheapest sites around, but you want might to read this thread to get an even better deal:

It specifically states in the TR T&C's that each element is a separate booking and if you were unable to use one part, eg because the flight was cancelled, then you are still liable for any other elements you have booked.

Flight + hotel with TR is not covered by the Package Travel Regulations.

luci is correct. Travel Republic do not sell package holidays.

Booking "Flight & Hotel" through Travel Republic is no different to booking flight directly with easyJet and hotel only with Travel Republic. It would offer no more or less protection.
