Eon charging me a cancellation fee for leaving Saveonline 3?

I haven't received the letter as of yet. Hmm however i seemed to have got through to the nottingham based cs of eon and they've now contradicted what this other region have told me, and they said because of the ofgem rules, they won't charge me as long as i let them know. Apparantly i have to let them know within 3 weeks AFTER i start the change (today) in order to state that i want to leave them and that i won't be incured a cancellation penalty.

Thanks to everyone who helped, hopefully others can benefit from this problem if you get a shirty cs advisor

Hi, we were on Eon saveonline5 then when we had the letter in August, pted to change to EDF. Just had our final bill, with cancellation fees detailed. Annoyingly, we had a customer service call 2 weeks ago asking why we were leaving and we told them that it was because of the price increase.
I guess billing doesn't speak to customer service? I now have to go to the inconvenience of phoning Eon although as they also ignored our final readings, I have to ask them to revise the estimated bill too.
Eon are great ... until you decide to leave them!
