Mobile contracts and debt management....please help!!!
Hia, not sure if this was posted anywhere else - did look but couldnt find anything.
Just wondered if anyone knew where I stood with my mobile phone contract and debt management? I am under a debt management company after I lost my job and my income and debt spiralled out of control, theyve given me great advice on how to manage everything (such as cred cards etc) and I am now self employed and just starting to get back on my feet - the problem I have is that I committed to a 2 year contract a month before I was made redundant - I have been able to maintain the payments up until last month and they have now cut me off.
I desperately need my phone for work but wondered if anyone knew if there was a way I could ask them to lower my package? even if it means signing again for longer, theres just no way I can afford to be on the package Im on - and, if they arent prepared to lower it does anyone know the outcome - and by that I mean what will ACTUALLY happen as opposed to the usual threats of emptying your house etc!?
Any help or advise would be very much appreciated xx

You need to contact the network and see if they can help in the first instance .

Sell the phone and use the money for monthly payments. Buy a basic replacement phone for a few pounds.0 -
The provider will trash your credit history and then will sell your debt to a debt collection company. They will add their charges and start chasing you.

I fear if OP is under a Debt Management Company that this is too late.
Regrettably, networks don't usually reduce the monthly charges on the contracts. In some cases, they may be persuaded, but not usually. You need to speak to them and also your debt management company.
They will try to recover the whole amount of the contract, probably via debt collectors eventually.
If your service has been suspended, then it is unlikely it will be reinstated unless you clear the outstanding amounts.
If you need a mobile, then you need to go PAYG and Giff Gaff are the current favourites on here.0
