Last monday i placed an online order on a website ,o-k-o-b-e,(the hyphons are because it came up with !!!!). The item was in stock and standard delivery 2-4 days. They gave between thursday and today. On friday, as i had not had a despatch email i contacted them and got a prompt response, saying as it was an offer price it sold out quick and i should have been emailed, but wasnt.
I had the option of cancelling for a full refund or waiting for further stock. I asked when it would be and they said they would find out from the supplier today.
Today i look to see if i have an email and found i hadnt so i typed in their website address and it doesnt open.
I am beginning to smell a rat here as they havent even posted on twitter or facebook today.
They do not provide telephone support, just email through the website. This should have given me cause for concern but i have read reviews and most of them seemed to be ok.
i am not hopeful now of seeing an order or refund. Fortunately i paid by credit card.
Should i be contacting my bank now or leave it for a bit longer?
Any help appreciated.

Thanks wealdroam, for taking the trouble to find that.Fortunately i already have that information from the email confirmation.
I really have my doubts about the company the way my order was dealt with. Saying it was in stock, not emailing to say it wasnt, and showing too much surprise i wasnt, and then saying they will have a re-stock date for me today, the day, they 'disapear'. Its like they knew something was coming.
  • Is this the same !!!!!?

Their website seems to be non-existant as of 5 mins ago.

There may well be a good reason the site is down and support unavailable.

Personally I would wait a few more days before contacting the bank incase their just experiencing a few hiccups.

I'm glad you have that info already Keith.

It appears that someone doesn't like that company's name and address being published and has arranged for my earlier post to be removed.

Watch carefully, and see bod1467's post vanish. :D

Hmm... a reminder - the posting of someone else's personal details - even when it is available in the public domain (like whois) is against the forum rules:-

forum_faqs_small_bubble.gifI posted a company director's name and address but it's gone, why?

Forum users should not post their or anyone else's personal details (full names, email addresses, home addresses or telephone numbers) on the forum or send them via PM (private message). This includes personal details found on public look-up sites such as Whois.com and Companies House.

Posters should also not harvest, collect or use information about others, including e-mail addresses.

Yes, I undrestand that, but it was just a company's name and address, company number and vat number that I posted... nothing personal at all.
Exactly as in the link subsequently posted by poppasmurf_bewdley.

I don't make the rules, honest; the Forum Team do. If they consider that a given post breaks the Forum Rules then they deal with it.

Posts of whois content is specifically mentioned in the rules.

If you think that this policy is wrong then you need to take it up with the Forum Team. (Use the link in my sig, or the one at the top of every page on MSE)
