Orange Default Help

It's like banging your head against a brick wall trying to deal with Orange. They agreed to write of two accounts back in '08 and I never thought anymore about it, until I had reason recently to check my credit files and they're registered defaults for the past 2 and half years.
I've written to Orange, they say they've no idea about the account numbers I mentioned, so I called them spoke to someone who found the accounts and the notes detailing the write offs, he said to write in to a different address including my credit files and allow 28 days for a reply, that was the 4th July (when I posted the letter) and I've called today as I've had no reply, today seems like I'm back to step one, "Sorry, I can't find an account, can you send in a letter with the listings on your credit file"... Honestly the mind boggles.
Any suggestions before I put in a complaint to OFCOM and the Information Commissions Office?

If it wasn't for the mistakes I made in the past (and learned from), I wouldn't be who and where I am today. It doesn't matter if you've cocked up, what matters is that you put it right and apologise. x

P.s I've also tried emailing the Chief Executive Tom Alexander, I found his email address on !!!!!!, no reply. Seems like all of Orange has Ostrich Syndrome. I've just noticed Tom Alexander is leaving the business and Olaf Swantee is taking over, Ill forward him the email, see if he can sort this debacle.
Any Other Suggestions? If it wasn't for the mistakes I made in the past (and learned from), I wouldn't be who and where I am today. It doesn't matter if you've cocked up, what matters is that you put it right and apologise. x0 -
Tom Alexander isn't the CEO.
Did they originally say that they wouldn't show the default? As when a business writes off a debt it normally means that they wont chase you for it, not that they wont record it?0 -
What he said, a write off isn't the same as declaring the debt null and void. Unless the having something from them stating that they will remove the debt from your file (which would depend on what the debts for?) is a valid entry.0

I know Tom isn't the CEO now but he was still listed as being at the time, Olaf Swantee is the CEO now and I've just dropped him an email, Orange agreed to cancel the accounts and write off the debts at that time. It was made clear to me that the closure of these accounts was the end of dealing with Orange and we parted companies on pleasant terms. When I've spoken with two people that managed to find the accounts they say the notes show that these account were written off and that there was to be an update to my credit files to remove their input. This didn't happen and they've sold the debt to Arrow Global, who are also registering defaults in the amount of £30.26.
I've spoken with Arrow and they've returned the accounts to Orange and they say they'll remove their input from my credit files once Orange gets in touch to confirm it was never meant to have been passed on.If it wasn't for the mistakes I made in the past (and learned from), I wouldn't be who and where I am today. 'and that there was to be an update to my credit files to remove their input.'
That's the important bit. They should now get it done, although with the number of staff they're shedding it might take a while!
Emailing the CEO is a waste of time, it'll just get passed to the Exec office to deal with. The CEO will never see and all that happens is it takes longer to get dealt with as it has to be sent on.0 -

They've not even bother to send it to their Exec Office. If it wasn't for the mistakes I made in the past (and learned from), I wouldn't be who and where I am today. It doesn't matter if you've cocked up, what matters is that you put it right and apologise. x0 -
When a company writes off a debt, most of the time it is because it is a "bad debt" i.e. one they can't really get paid. Jus as replies above stated.
Now you have not explained why the accounts were written off - and there is no reason why, if it is confidential that you should - but, in general, if they have simply given up on you ever paying, then it is right that this is recorded on the credit record.
If, however, there was some dispute and Orange agreed to cancel the outstanding amounts as you had some legitimate cause - say due to an error on their part or their acceptance of a bad service (like when 3 ceased their 2G fallback on another network), then your credit record should not be stained and any entries removed.0
