Local Court Nightmare

It obviously wasnt a bankruptancy court or else you would be able to get a appointment?
they were given an appointment but turned away coz apparently that particular court does not cover the area they live in.
i dont know if you have grounds to complain OP coz i assume the onus is on you to check you are attending the right court.Countdown to Discharge Is On!

They used their local court, bankruptancy courts are not served in every town where their is a court. If their court does not deal with bankruptancy then you would not be able to get a appointment. Just like hospitals do not deal with every type of medical condition.0 -
So...you have another 4 weeks or so to wait?
Not a lot in the bigger scheme of things.
Should certainly give your EX time to get more used to the idea?
Court boundaries can be somewhat at odds with political boundaries.
And they appear to have little to do with Administrative boundaries either.
Everybody seems to have a downer on so-called 'bureaucracy?'
But only when they cannot get exactly what they want, when they want it.
Yet without bureaucracy, this country..and most of the world, would be in one hell of an uncivilised mess.
And bankruptcy wouldn't exist as a solution to debt problems.
Most bureaucracy arises from the inability of individuals to get their acts together...
In my instance, there are several Courts nearer to me than the one I had to use.....but none of them had sufficient 'rank' to cater to my needs.
Divorce throws up similar issues.
In my case, I liaised closely with the Debt advisers in my local CAB....who pointed me in the right direction.....needless to say, the OR's office was in city I would have thought my Court would have been....but not so.No, I don't think all other drivers are idiots......but some are determined to change my mind.......0 -

Foxy I don't know if you forgot your glasses today but you seem to be reading this completely wrong! The court does deal with bankruptcy and they DID give us an appointment to go bankrupt today, however on arrival at court they told us that they are not the court that deals with our particular area in which we live even though we live in that town, NOT that THEY do not deal with br, because they DO.0
