Need really short school trousers.

DS2 is due to start school in September and is still only in a 18-24 month trouser (although these are getting on the short side so he may be in a 2-3 by September.

I usually do an M&S online order for DS1 and DD2 but the smallest trousers they have are 3-4, the same with ASDA and Tesco. Does anyone know of anywhere I can buy shorter school trousers, wither grey or at a push black?

(I am terrible with a sewing needle so taking the trousers up would be difficult!)

Just get the iron on stuff - really easy to hem, even I can do it!

Make sure you also get the adjustable waist so you can make it smaller.

Oh yes I forgot about webbing thats a great idea. I can line it up with a pair of his regular trousers.

We do have an alteration service near us, but my son has autism and mobility problems and I dont know if he would be able to stand still long enough, or like the fact someone was that close to him.

I do hope the 3-4 will go small enough in the waist. He is really tiny and will be half a head shorter than all the other children in his class :D

My son is a titch too, I'm a slave to the wonderweb!

(I have used safety pins too, usually in the mornings when the hems have come down and I don't have time to iron/sew the bloody things back up again!)

Next are very good for small/slim fit trousers, also, have you tried a school supplies shop? Some of the primary schools do insist on a specific uniform and these shops may stock smaller sizes in trousers. The sales assistants are very good too, they will be able to pick out an exact fit just by looking at your child. If they don't have the size you need in stock, they may be able to order them in for you.

    Hope he enjoys school!

I have used the web thing & it worked. If you have Facebook why not make a plea on it for someone who could help you out in lieu of a bottle of wine (cheaper than a proper seamstress!)
