Surprised this hasn't been discussed more on here, but Windows messenger (MSN messenger) is now free on Three mobile phones.

I think its bloody amazing and will save me huge amounts on text messages, allow me to keep friends instantly updated when i'm at the football and they aren't........

Anyone else using it and impressed with three?

I will admit sometimes I have trouble connecting and with my 6280 its not easy to tell if you actually have it running or not, but top marks to three for doing this....

M

PS Would be interested to hear from anyone using this on the SE K800i or the Nok N73

  • I think it's only free if you're on a certain minimum tariff, which I'm not as I'm on the lowest one there is, so it's not free for me.

I know if you connect to a new tarriff its only certain ones, but doesn't say anything about current customers and I got it.

    Are you sure mate?

  • Yup works nice on my n73 on DTT 1400 plan, but sometimes its a pain to login, and im sure im getting charged sometimes.......so far my cirrent spend is 0.20 yet all i have used is MSN and txt friends...hmmmm...rang 3 they said its data charges and i said wa for and they said they cant tell me, lol
  • called them up about 6 times, was told to restore settings, re-install, take battery out etc, did all of that and i noticed the difference between my network coverage from what it was before i took the battery and sim out, i know some 3 phones have very bad network coverage but ive only had this for 2 days so was disappointed...

anyway the messenger still doesnt work, still doesnt respond and go into contact list, instead just stays still on verifying username and password, anyone know if this could be the handsets fault or the sim fault? will have to get it repaired/ messenger fixed.
  • I've been trying it on my K800i and think its the bee knees - totally free and I only pay £20 a month after negotiating them down from £25 pound a month when my contract came up for renewal! VTT 500 is my price plan.

Only thing is I hardly know anyone with MSN! I wish there was a way to do skype chats in the same way cos I know loads of people on skype.

I have a W950i and it works fine, tested it with a mate and the service is pretty quick only about 5 seconds lag between sending messages and receiving them.

Did you know you can access ebay free on your three phone as well?
