    Morning all

Happy birthday Molly, hope you have a lovely birthday and holiday!
Certainly been summer weather here (not). Yesterday's duck race was cancelled after I had baked for britain, DD trying to wade her way through 2 doz cupcakes and 2 doz chocolate buns! Put the rest in the freezer for when it is on. The river was running too fast yesterday and would have been unsafe for anyone to go in to collect the ducks!

Went in search of curtains yesterday - we have very large french doors in our big living room that look out over the garden and fields. Found out that DD doesn't like it when it's dark in case someone is looking in and she can't see them. I see her point and also it will help with keeping some of the heat in during the cold weather. Looked in the usual places and had a few ideas, Next seemed to be the best but they didn't have extra wide so would have to order them on line. Had a look at e-bay and ended up buying 2 pairs for just over £200! Seems a lot but the shops wanted £90 a pair and I need 2 pairs. These seem to be better quality (I hope) and different to any I have seen.

Not raining today yet so have DDs bedding in the machine, it's quite breezy so hopefully it will dry outside. Going to clear the hall (massive with vaulted ceiling) ready for painting. The dining table and chairs are in there so not sure what to do with them, may have to cover the table and hope for the best.

Off for a coffee now before I start, last week off before school starts next week and working tonight. Take care. XX

    Morning my lovelies :D

Well it WAS blue sky and sunshine but that now appears to have gone! Yesterday we had thunder and lightening and torrential rain much to DD's dismay. Never mind she'll learn to appreciate a good storm one day ;) DS was lovin' it mind.....chip off the old block LOL
Not sure what I am doing with the kids today, feeling a bit tired now as DD was up in the night coughing. Weather is supposed to be getting wet so will have to see if we can get out somewhere or I'll be going stir crazy!

Tea is bacon, onion and potato hotpot although I don't have many spuds eek!
Have put the vac round but I need to dust lounge and have a quick tidy round.

Molly - Happy birthday lovey  have a great holiday :D
Lou - Hope you're OK xx

Hugs and spoons all round. Have a good day OS or not.

    Hi everyone,

I'll read the thread later. I'm a bit shocked at the moment. DS is the District Manager for 3 stores in the areas where all the rioting was going on and one of them at least was looted. He's on holiday at the moment (which I'm grateful for) but obviously he's really worried.

Snoozer - glad your dear son was safely out of the way when those criminals went on the rampage with arson and theft.
Molly - :bdaycake:Enjoy your birthday and have a great holiday.

I am trying to get everything we need located, washed and dried if needed and bought if we don't have it!!
I have lists growing on my lists!!!

Sun is shining here at the moment and the wind is strong. My washing is blowing beautifully out on the line. Hopefully it will dry quickly because more rain is forecast to follow the deluge we had yesterday. Big grey clouds keep sailing across the sky.

Dinner today will just be for the 3 of us - DH, DD2 and me. I have taken steak & mushroom casserole from the freezer to have with lo runner beans & potatoes from yesterday. DH makes great casserole and usually makes twice as much as we need. I freezer the surplus and then we can have it as straight casserole (like today) or I make a Rogan Josh spice mix to add to it which turns it into a very tasty curry.

Have a Happy Monday folks with {{{hugs}}} for those that need or want them.
    Cheers, Silver x

    Afternoon All

Just catching up reading, and now posting in the car onthe A38 north of Derby. Had to restrict BB access due to battery only in the 'van, but not charging up via a Inverter in the car.

:bdaycake: Molly - hope you have a good one, and a good holiday
Hope your holiday goes well too H-H
(((hugs))) to those who would like/need one, esp. Annie/Lou, PP and any missing posters.

Well we have had a good party weekend, celebrating 40 years of the Caravan Owners Club we belong to. Had a dance (jiving) on Saturday night, but the also put some Slow Foxtrots, and Waltzes for the older ones, some of our members are in the 80's and quite a few their late 70's, and it was lovely to see them enjoying a dance together.

Last night we were on our way down to the marquee, not many 'vans left as the "workers" had had to go home for work today, and called for an older couple from your, and while they may be old in years, are certainly not in outlook, they had decided not to go down to the marquee as they thought it would be too cold with not many in, as it held 100 van's worth of us on Friday/Saturday nights, and we got nattering, the next thing we knew it was 12.30!!

Had a little lie in this morning, and packed and as I said we are not on our way home, joining the M1 any minute. Now on M1, just had a mad moment with no connection, luckily I had copied this before pressing post, so did not lose it, so now posted where I had got to to make sure I did not lose it.

About three quarters of an hour to home, and then will try to get organised for the BBQ on saturday, not had many replies to the RSVP on the invite - wonder how many know what it means any more :rotfl: Need to organise some sausages and burgers from the local butcher, and see what I can use out of the freezer to make room for LO's.

Tea tonight will be something around the couple of burgers and the bacon left from the weekend.

    Take care all - DG
