Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Monday 8th August. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning all
Little bits of blue sky showing through the white clouds here today, we had a real storm yesterday, thunder, lightening, strong winds & torrential rain.
PLans today mainly include ironing & sorting out some clothes. I also want to have a go at making some Sarubobo, sort of tiny Japanese figures.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Morning Hester and all to follow.
Been raining heavily in the night, but its all clear now and we have blue sky's, got the wm, another load to follow and a bit of hand washing to do.
Our new bathroom is being delivered today :j:j:j, have a delivery time of between 7 and 1, whats the betting they come at 1.
Roast chicken for dinner with all the trimmings, will get the veg and spuds done in a while, and then do an internet shop and have a quick tidy round.
I then want to get in the bathroom and start chiping the paint off, its all got to come off due to Mr Bodge it who lived here before us not mis coating before painting, its a tedious job, but has to be done, I am sure dd will help.
Talking of dd, she went out with her dad yesterday who for the first time EVER gave her some pocket money , (she is 17 this year) honestly you could have knocked me down with a feather, he thinks that the maintenance money he gives me should cover all that, and never gives her a penny, I have bitten my tongue all these years, but she is beginning to see what he is like.
Hugs to all in need today,
Anniestar how are you going ??
Have fun all xx
:bdaycake:Happy Birthday to Molly, have a great day xxx0 -
Morning everyone
Dry sunny with a bit of a breeze here. Rain from yesterday's downpour now drying up. DH up and off to work at stupid early o'clock.
Boys up and had brekkie as dad coming to collect them and their bikes as they are staying over whilst I work this week, I will collect them on Wednesday after I finish work.
Went to meet our friends and managed to finalise the menu for our rally in September, had forgotten how lovely the forest etc is there and think I will take the children as you can take a picnic, there's toilets on site and free parking, there's lots of trails/walks through the forest.
Have managed to menu plan for this week, so tonight we will be having sausages, mash veg and gravy, there's some cake left for dessert if DH wants some.
Will be trying to keep on top of most things as we're away this weekend and then going on holiday the following week so the countdown has begun. Really in need of a holiday seems a long time since we've actually had some proper holiday down time! Meanwhile it's back to reality, work this week and next - at least it's only part time - but it's becoming more and more stressful.
Not much else to say really, keep safe and well everyone, hugs to those that need them.

Redruby - Thankyou for birthday wishes. We are off on holiday today so might be sporadic in posting but will keep in touch.
Hope you all have a good week and thinking you xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -

Morning everyone,
The washing pile is diminishing but I think that it will take me all day to finally get to the bottom of it.
DD1 set off to France last night with her scout group, they have 24 hours on a coach to get there but I am sure that it will be worth it.
Now got to get all DS's washing done as he is off camping with some friends tomorrow.
Tea tonight will be some of the large pot of chilli that I made last night.
Have a lovely day everyone.:)0 -
Morning All
Nice bright morning, so I will hunt for some washing in a little while.
DH started his holiday today, but has to go and see a friend this morning who needs a carpet cleaned because their dog was sick all over it .
I have to take some library books back this morning and pay a bill.
This afternoon we are taking MIL to the nurseries because FIL gets bored and doesn't like to take her and she loves to go and have a nice leisurely look around.
Hope everyone is ok special (((((((((Hugs)))))))) to Lou, Anniestar and anyone else who needs one.Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Morning all,
Still have DGD here, managed to grab a coffee before she was up at 6.15. Packed lunch of Chick salad sarnies, yogurt and peach for DH's lunch. Stripped bed and cot, sheets ect in WM. Must feed BM. Lots of ironing to catch up on and the grass needs cutting but it may be too wet as we had torrential rain thunder & lightning all day y/day.
Hope it stays dry today as the windows need cleaning inside & out.
Well off to make a start on my chores, have a good day.
