****SUMMARY OF FINAL DETAILS AS FOLLOWS****
The place: Lord Moon of the Mall pub, Whitehall, SW1
The time: 4pm till "whenever" on Saturday 10th February 2007
Important: it is recommended that you don't bring kids as, although it is a "family friendly" pub, kids MUST sit in the "family area" which is not big enough for all of us and it would be a shame if you were isolated from the rest of the group

The directions: it's next to the Trafalgar Studios theatre, at the Trafalgar Square end of Whitehall
Here's a map
By tube: come to Charing Cross on the Northern Line (Charing Cross branch) or Bakerloo Line. If you're not familiar with the area I strongly recommend that when you get off the tube you follow signage towards Trafalgar Square, NOT towards Charing Cross railway station. If it is easier to come by Jubilee, District or Circle lines, you can get off at Westminster, follow exit signs towards Whitehall, and walk all the way along Whitehall.
By bus: The following routes go directly past the pub: 3, 11, 12, 24, 53, 87, 88, 159, 453. In addition the following routes serve stops on Trafalgar Square itself: 6, 9, 13, 15, 23, 29, 91, 139, 176.
By rail: Charing Cross station is a 5 minute walk away. From Waterloo take the 139 or 176 bus (or walk if you have a map). From Paddington take the 15, the 23 or the Bakerloo Line. From Liverpool Street the 11 or the 23. From Victoria the 11 or the 24. From London Bridge go to overground platform 6, continue your journey to Charing Cross, and walk. From Euston or King's Cross take the 91. From Marylebone take the 453. From Blackfriars take the District or Circle Line to Embankment or Westminster (both 10 mins walk away) - same if you're coming into Fenchurch Street (in which case you'd get ON the tube at Tower Hill).

Anything I've missed, please ask!
As you may have read on the Daily Thread, a group of us are planning to meet up informally in London on Saturday 10th February. This is to coincide with AussieLass's visit to London which seemed like an unmissable opportunity for a bit of a booze-up and a chat

Now, we did something similar about 6 months ago. We met in one of London's biggest and comfiest Wetherspoons pub - Penderel's Oak on High Holborn - for the sake of there being plenty of variety of edible food and drinkable drink available at a very reasonable price. It was a really suitable, relaxed and inexpensive place to get together.
For the upcoming get-together may I suggest the Lord Moon of the Mall, Whitehall, another Wetherspoon. It is large, central, and being just off Trafalgar Square, should be reachable by one single bus from most London railway terminals :money:
I suggest starting late in the afternoon and going on till whenever people want to leave, as that means that people can come for as long or as short a period as they are able to, and anybody who wants to come in from outside of London will be able to make the return trip.
Please reply to this thread if you fancy coming - it is definitely an informal meet so please don't feel you have to commit one way or the other, but it would be useful to have the "possibles" so that contact details can be circulated by PM nearer the time.
The important bits of this post are in BOLD

I should like to come and say hello aswell please. I'd come up late pm or early evening as coming in on the train and won't want to travel back out too late to the sticks. I've put it in my diary!
