no response after interview!

Last week I had an interview for a job at a Casino, so decided to invest in a new jacket & trousers and toddled off with shirt and tie.
Got there 5 mins early, was kept waiting for 25 minutes, then the general manager appears and takes me through to be interviewed at a table in front of the bar. It soon became obvious I was over dressed as he and all the other employees didn't have a tie on!! He started moaning that he had so much responsibility and worked such long hours!!
When the interview concluded he told me to expect a phone call on Friday last week and they would tell me one way or another if I had been successful. It is now the following Friday and I haven't heard a thing.. Think I had a lucky escape tbh. :wave:0 -

All people want is a thankyou but no..by letter, email or call..Especially when the recruiter says either way they will contact you on a specified day. Oh well i'm over it now because a company isnt that great if they can't keep to their word and not professional..end of! And its always a double whammy when you realise the job you've been interviewed for doesn't exist anymore!
Rant over!
I have a phone interview with Virgin Holidays, any tips?!?:D0 -
Move on you can get a better job than this one... all luck..0

It is getting increasingly common for people not to give any feedback. I suspect it it is a HR thing and my guess is that it is a fear of being challenged/ sued.
Every candidate I interview I give feedback to HR but I've had more than one agent call me directly asking for feedback because they hadn't heard anything from HR. Certainly the feedback is received as HR have replied to the email with comments in the past.
Silence = no basically0 -
This is a regular occurrence I'm afraid, Companies that just can't be arsed to advise you of the outcome of an interview after you have taken the time to attend and maybe lost a days salary.
If it is the other way around,when you fail to attend an interview you get employers coming on this forum spitting out thier dummies stating that jobseekers are workshy and inconsiderate.
A real bunch of hypocrites some of those employers are:mad:0 -

I think it is more a case of you not realising the aspersions which are being cast. This is probably a spammer at work, let's not beat about the bush.dickydonkin wrote: »:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
