 Had an interview for a travel agents over a week ago, they told me i'd receive an answer if im going to the next stage so i phoned back on that day and the manager was away from desk and said shed call me back but NOTHING, it took a long time to get interview as she was away from desk a lot and busy so its not unusual but its obviously causing me anxiety! I do feel i'm over qualified for position and was positive after interview as it went very well..I was first person to be interviewed and I dont think i'll call them back, ill leave it in their hands..How would u feel about this?

You didn't get the job, live with it and move on!:money:The harder one works the luckier one gets!0 -
Its very ignorant though to leave people hanging on.
Phone call these days for companies around 1p, emails cost nothing.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Its very rude and unnecessary - hope you find a better company to work for in your searches.
Try and stay positive and good luck !!!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:0 -
OP id move on and look for another job, ive had the same thing happen twice recently to me so i just move on and continue looking. Its quite annoying when it happens. If they get back to you then its a plus.0

I had the same experience recently. I think it's annoying and rude to leave you hanging like that. Keep looking. Their loss.0

Well the travel company I went for an interview with didnt get back to me so I emailed head office and they told me the position had been cancelled so they cant continue with my application. Why couldnt the manager tell me this and follow up with a call? Oh well got a phone interview with a much better company! Their loss!0

That's seriously rude!
Good luck with your phone interview though Vegpip

Have we really reached the stage of speculative recruiting and interviewing?Wanted a job, now have one. :beer:0

well that's natural especially if you are a job seeker. Find other ways to get over it and move on. Normally this kind of happening is a part of the job hunting procedure were in you get the job and others don't or the other way around.don't invest on something non profitable.

In defence to the other side.... I have been recruiting recently for a couple of part time jobs for a new business venture. Everyone who applied got a 'thanks for your interest, we'll be back to you soon' email, and we have interviewed a few people with some already invited to second interview. However... the closing date for applications hasnt gone yet, and we are still getting applications through.
So, although the ones with no chance have already had a 'sorry, no' email (all applications were by email), we still haven't replied to the ones who might get an interview if the second interviews in the next few days arent suitable. It's not about keeping people hanging on for us, it's more about trying not to miss any good people.
Once we have selected our people then everyone else will get a thanks but no thanks email.0
