Vanilla ((hugs)) and coping vibes. At least you know and can get on with your day.

Dogbot taken to vets. He has some sort of bacterial infection (been licking his non-existent bo***cks) So antibiotics for 10days. Had to wait for his boosters. More expense. But as they say 'he's worth it':)

  • Morning, everyone :) Thanks for nice comments.

Up early this morning to check on whether any cleanup help was needed - they seem to have been quite selective this end, only going for jewellers, cash machines, Richer Sounds and a few windows.

Took Minion out and went up to within a short distance of the bits that Sky were showing last night. They aren't good. Couldn't help with cleaning up one of the music shops as a building within a couple of doors was still alight, so went through the town centre to see all the big, multinational businesses have been superbly protected by the police by keeping the looters in the smaller, sole trader areas. Well, other than a little Currys. Grabbed some food shopping and walked back. Minion relieved to see her goth shop just seemed to have a broken window, my usual pub is intact, a couple of paper shop type places have been robbed and, thankfully, my music shop guys removed all their stock before closing yesterday.

Have offered them the use of my front room for lessons if anything kicks off again, which it is rumoured to be - all those untouched shops have to be a challenge. And there are a load of sirens going off in the distance. But the Skycopter isn't overhead anymore, which is always a good sign.

    Whereabouts are you, Rach?

Back home now, Minion has vacuumed and is now methodically popping bubble wrap whilst I loiter upstairs with one of the cats.

(Oh, btw, Piggers, if I had the choice, I'd pick yours to come to, 'cos you'd let me bring the splats, wouldn't you? :))

Vanilla - what can I say but well done. I hope that this is the start of a much simpler/easier life for you and the children, and stuff what the Estate thinks - he showed himself up, not you. Having an illness doesn't give anyone a free pass to be like that and you already do so much, you don't need to be dealing with him too.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.

Morning. Good to hear from Rach and Jojo. Thankfully, I have heard from all my friends in London this morning so they are all safe :D although the photos I've seen are awful :(

vanilla - huge hugs; I think you have done amazingly well to cope with all this for so long. You need to put yourself and your children first and I'm sending you thoughts and prayers and coping vibes xx

I have washing on the line and have put loads of bits away. Washing up and banking done too.

Need a list to update ..........

Glad to see your OK JoJo. A friend of mine lives and works in Croydon and riot vans are currently parked outside her office. The security staff are apparently discussing with police whether or not they should be sent home. I really hope they are there as a precaution/deterrant, rather than necessity.

Just checked Hotmail to see the company which owes me money has responded to say refund sent today. We shall see.

  • DW loaded, washing up done, 1 bag of recycling filled & I have called Ofsted back. Apparently someone elses name came up on the Social Services check  they are happy that I have confirmed who lives here is correct - but I am not happy that it has come up at all!! they say it could be a previous resident, but i have lived here 17 years, and nothing came up on the check in 2008 :( i want to make sure that XH is not doing something dodgy (could be his drink-addled brain has forgotten he moved out 16 years ago!!)

Ok, i need to crack on with the kitchen and also post a frog :j
