I hurt my back about 5 weeks ago and tried home deliveries for the first time.

I agree that Sainsbury was excellent in all respects - delivery slot (1 hr), good use by dates, little substitution etc

However, I was very disappointed with Asda and won't be using them again - mainly because of the "picking" rather than delivery or price. Battery eggs were substituted for free range, the cucumber was already soft at one end and the parsnips were all old and "sweaty" - yuk:(.

BTW - Sainsbury basic mash is very good and a great price.

I also got sent 3 vouchers for £10 off £50 shop after my first Sainsbury delivery - Asda just sent a survey to complete (which I did!!)

Well I've just finished putting away my mammoth first online shop from sainsburys and I must say I have been very very impressed I got at least 2 weeks worth of food to last me, oh and the dog.
I also got a few treats such as 3 bottles of wine for £12 that should of cost £25:beer: ,3 tubs of pringles for £3 and some gilette razors for oh 2 pks of 8 for £5.
The delivery came at 12.30 with a lovely driver who explained everything and told me that there was one substitution which was a 2l bottle of cherry vimto and they gave me the normal one, they were both the same price at 68p!!!
He also told me his least busy time and that it is only free delivery over £100 on Tues Weds and Thurs but I feel I have still saved.
My fresh meat was dated 17Aug so got a week on that plus I've frozen some of them to last longer.
I will definately be using them again and will recommend it to people plus I've already saved at least £30 from my usual tesco and asda shops!:T:T

I find Sainsbury's too expensive but glad you had a good experience and it's less costly for you.

Sounds like you're under their minimum requirement for the £3.50 delivery - would pop back to the website and check incase you're close, may be worth adding a small amount more for cheaper del. :)

You need to spend £40 to qualify for the £3.50 delivery charge.

You may as well add something to take it over £40 hun. By adding £2 your gonna knock £2.50 off your delivery, better to have something to show for your £2.50 in my opinion. x
