Anyone used Dulux Endurance matt emulsion?

Best to do a thin 'mist' coat with Dulux Trade Matt first. Thin the matt paint down with water. Different ratios are advised depending on who you ask but an average is 2/3rds paint and 1/3 cold water.
Alternatively just buy really cheap matt paint which will likely be thin and runny anyway.
It's a waste of Endurance thinning that down for a first coat.Herman - MP for all!0 -
I've been told to buy a cheap matt white emulsion and water it down 20% for the first coat. As aliasojo says, it might not even need watering, but better to be safe IMO. Bare plaster will suck out the water from neat paint and make it dry before it soaks into the plaster. The result will be paint that has not adhered properly. Test it with a splat of neat paint and you'll see what I mean!
I do wonder though if this allows the Endurance paint to bond properly as the base will be a less durable paint.
One thing I noted is that Endurance needs one more coat than normal paint. My bathroom fitter recommended three coats when 2 might do for normal paint. I tend to do one more coat to ensure a good layer. The Diamond Trade Matt might cover better than Endurance, not sure.Warning: This forum may contain nuts.0
