Anyone used Dulux Endurance matt emulsion?

As the title says, has anyone used Dulux Endurance matt emulsion, and if so what did you think of the result? I want a matt paint that can be cleaned easily, and I am wondering if it really is matt. I've got Dulux brilliant white matt emulsion in the kitchen and that has a lovely soft appearance.

I used Endurance Matt (Natural Calico) in our dining room. Lovely finish and it wipes easily. I've since bought loads more for trhe rest of the house.

Cheers. I applied some Natural Calico to the small bedroom, and very nice it is too. I have bought more for the rest of the house. (I think there is a theme developing.)

I was surprised to find that Dulux magnolia (bought a tester pot) is rather similar, and not at all yellow.

  • I painted my bedroom in Endurance Natural Calico in the bedroom and I'm very happy with the result.

I believe it's one of Dulux's most popular colors - it does seem to match everything!

I have Endurance Almond White in the kitchen and pleased with this too!

Apparently painters get a lot of people asking for Natural Calico and Natural Hessian. I thought the latter nice but a bit dark. Well known designers always seem to suggest stronger colours, but I find them too dominant.

  • I've got diamond matt (iirc the trade version of endurance) in my kitchen around the hob (it's actually an old chimney breast) - no splashbacks and it looks great and wipes down really well even after a good fry up!

Mind you, none of this magnolia business for me, it's red stallion 2 :D

It is indeed the trade version. Apparently it covers a bit better (more pigment) but is not quite so easy to apply (more drippy). So I am told.

Sorry to hijack but has anyone seen this at a reasonable price please? Another vote for Naural Calico, but haven't tried the endurance yet.
    Thanks:)

I guess you've tried googling? I buy Endurance at B&Q and Homebase at £35 for a large can, 5L I think. B&Q had a 3 for 2 offer, but surprise surprise they did not have three cans of Natural Calico Endurance at three separate stores. :doh:Although it is expensive, I am hoping it will mean much longer times between repainting, or alternatively look better when I put the house on the market.

Apparently Paint and Paper Library do a similar paint, I think it is the flat acrylic, but that is £60 for 5L. Ouch.

Thanks Leif. I did try googling but it's surprising the bargains that our little (!) network of shoppers seem to find. Like Paint and paper library, never heard of them, off to take a look now. Thanks again:T

  • Would anyone recommend endurance if you are painting for the first time onto plastered walls / ceilings?
