i'd have to see when i apply, either that, or do a 90 day trip instead.

If you're of retirement age then they're easier to get, however, if you are refused then the chances of getting an esta immediately after are slim, and any esta you may have now would be unusable.

    ESTA Question:-
    F) Have you ever been denied a U.S. visa or entry into the U.S. or had a U.S. visa canceled? *
Answer would now be YES, any ESTA you currently hold would be automatically cancelled.

    Its a gamble.

Yeah, must be better to buy & sell something ! Way back in '82 when I was just a teenager, I bought a Honda 400 in Boise Idaho, drove it for a week & then sold it in Albuquerque....all 'cos I didn't have a car licence ! all worked out nicely, although the poor guy who bought it from me then had trauma getting the proper paperwork completed, and ended up sending me something that needed signing by a "notary public" !

A friend of mine did something similar in 1985. He bought an old Packard Clipper in California and drove across to the east coast. He intended to sell it when he got there but by that time he'd grown fond of it so he shipped it home. He's still got it. IIRC it broke down roughly every fifty miles during the trip.
