I've come back to procrastinate. I've done 2 doors and I need to do another 3 but I'm at the 'stare into space' stage again so I've got a ready meal in the oven to eat in the meantime (a cheapo on offer thing from Morrisons that is obviously too disgusting to sell full price so they reduced it drastically :undecided.)

I'm idly wondering what would happen if I barricaded myself in. (I only have a camp chair and an Ikea lack coffee table here now so I suppose it wouldn't take too long to get me out. :rotfl:

If you all visited me all at once, everything would get done in a couple of hours. Pick a cloth or a paintbrush, what would you like? :D

Don't know about taking up tools; I am also staring into space and am supposed to be harvesting Pea Seeds...but just CBA.
If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.

    :(

I have 3 large planters with pea plants in them that I can't take with me (size/weight). The pea pods aren't quite ready to be picked so I'm a bit fed up about them too, especially since I know son's fingers are about as green as the sky is. I suspect he'll leave them to rot.

Normally, I would say yes but as I've had my personal little hell redecorating the kitchen and the bathroom after the people upstairs decided we should shower when they did, I'll politely decline and offer to make you a virtual cuppa to keep you going! :D:D

I've felt like !!!!!! all weekend too. I'd gladly come and help with the decorating, I'm sure I could put some of my aggression into it.

You don't have a neighbour who would come in and appreciate them? Also does your son know how you're feeling, and might he surprise you by actually looking after the peas, just to make you feel better?

Huge hugs from me. When we first moved I felt completely and utterly overwhelmed, had to get the chap we were living with to tell me I was doing all right. He gave me a hug, and said very clearly "You are doing all right. Actually, you're doing a lot better than all right. I don't know anyone who could do any better, in this messy situation, and very few people who could tolerate it at all." And as I knew he wasn't the kind of person who would just 'say' something like that to make me feel better, I knew he meant it.

So, everyone repeat after me: "aj, you are doing all right. You're doing a lot better than all right. This is a horrible messy situation, not of your own making, and very few people would tolerate it at all."

Now, since at least some of us aren't the kind of people who would just 'say' something like that to make you feel better, you must know we mean it.

And as for driving your DD to school, I think that could be a bonus, initially. I know you're dreading it on her behalf, but you can boost her up on the way there (and then fall to bits once she's out of sight.)

BTW, I hope your son is paying some contribution while he's living there, sounds as if he can afford it!

AJ - you're having a normal reaction to an abnormal situation. Nowt wrong with that, it shows you're normal (and let's face it, that can't be said of everyone that posts on MSE ;))
Are the peas at mange tout stage? And do you mind if I give your kind offer of a paintbrush a miss?
.................:)....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

Yes, it is crap, isn't it? Let's howl together shall we?

I've just seen my eldest off at the station. He's been home one night, between hitchhiking with a friend and going back to where he now lives, which I daresay he thinks of as 'home' even though he's been sofa surfing all summer and is only going to his long term let for the first time today.

And I miss him ALREADY! And I'm in bits because he LET ME HUG HIM! he stopped letting me do that when he was about 2, I think, he'd fight me off, but now he lets me!

And I've still got two of them at home, and we're not moving (I daren't say ever, do I?).

OK, deep breath. "AJ and Sue, you are both doing all right."

    Tissues, anyone?
