Who gets offered the best deal?

Who would generally get the better deal?

The person brand new to a phone company or the person upgrading from payg to a contract?

It shouldn't take a rocket scientist to work that out, new customer of course, just had my house insurance renewal, it had gone up £100, go online to do a comparison and the same company is the £100 cheaper go figure.

New customers can make use of cashback which old customers cant without cancelling and re signing up on alot of things.
  • new customers are better for operators, that's the sad truth. That's why sometime it is good to change mobile provider to the one that's the cheapest for you. It's a bit of a hassle, but porting number takes 10 minutes and is effective the next day.
  • I possibly didn't word the question correctly.

The fact that I'm already with the company but on payg, would that make any difference in me getting a better / worse deal?

No difference but you would have the option of using cashback available to you by signing up as a new customer.
