Well, i have registered to view credit reports with call credit and equifax. Call credit took a couple of days and then let me view it, showing no issues. Equifax want some ID photocopying.
My callcredit report showed the on account i have with Vodafone, and nothing negative. Showed me on the electoral register, ad 6 searched over 12 months, but some where from callcredit, some where from when i did confused.com, so nothing really on the credit account searches.
Probably a lack of history. Will wait till i get the photocopies over to equifax and see what they have to say. It shouldnt be much different to the callcredit one though should it?

Were you asked for a bank statement as proof of income when they sent the signature form ?

my theory is that they have already decided to decline if they do not ask (does not apply to applicants who already have income paid to a Nat West account)

They didnt ask me for proof of income or any bank statements last year when I applied for my current account, and they gave me an overdraft and £250 CGC, although having said that, I did have a savings account with them, although it didnt have much in it

Yes, they sent me the Sig form and all the paperwork relating to the Select Account.

Because you have an accout is why they wont have asked for ID, as they will already have it.

Never provided them with any ID when I opened my savings account either, it was all verified electronically. Are you on the E/R?
