Hi, I recently applied for the Natwest current account online. I then received a letter asking for my Signature and for proof of ID. Does this mean I have been accepted for the account?

Hi thanks for the reply!
Whats avu?
That's a HUGE question :rotfl:
Basically, the avu is a super secret branch of the RBS group which vets applications. There are hundreds of cases of people being accepted, getting their cards and account numbers, only to get another letter telling them it's all closed.
If you have anything shady in your history, expect to fall foul of the AVU.
Search the forum for the terms natwest and AVU."We want the finest wines available to humanity, we want them here, and we want them now!"0 -
It stands for applications verification unit.0

Seems like the AVU kicked in, TW**S!0

Oh dear, did they decline you? AVU are the RBS Group gestapoDebt free and staying that way! :beer:0

You'll not shift them either, once they decline you you've had it.
There was a woman / gal on here a while back who whined at them for months and got nowhere."We want the finest wines available to humanity, we want them here, and we want them now!"0 -
Not too bothered about not getting the account! But i do think that they should do the AVU prior to accepting applications etc. The whole process is a little bit backward.0

You're not the first and won't be the last to fall foul.....
Just out of interest, did you have something in your past they wouldn't have liked?"We want the finest wines available to humanity, we want them here, and we want them now!"0
