thanks for your comments folks and BW
all taken on board and sorry i hadn't intended to upset or put anyone off using the thread.
must say though feel of thread changed way before i started posting reminders/redirects.

    please post away.:D

in my defence though i was only trying to keep the thread clear for coupon stuff , which some were saying was getting lost a while back with all the chatter and non coupon related posts. it was suggested then about redirecting people to the more suitable threads.

i will happily lay off the redirects and reminders and will just stick to thanking, answering questions and updating thread/shop list from now on. as thats seemed to be whats wanted .

but i will say one last thing about this
please don't complain or start moaning when the thread gets bogged down in chatter and non related stuff and starts looking like a general thread with the odd coupon posted in between.

sorry again for any upset caused :o and consider myself throughly told off :D

If we try and keep the general chat to the drivel thread and glitches and coupon posts to here I think we can get a happy medium for all.;)
Think MT has been thoroughly spanked and sat on the naughty step long enough now (plus she has drunk all my Blue stuff I brought to the naughty step:mad::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:) so can we drop the subject rather than have loadsa posts discussing it now please
thanks for posting, hopefully some coupons will be located from this

i joined the homesolutions thingy a while back but have yet to recieve anything though

Like other regulars I joined home solutions years ago hoping for coupons but as far as I know I haven't received any from them. Worth signing up but don't get too excited thinking you will get loadsa coupons;)
Be thankful for what you have because it could all be taken away tomorrow.;)

I know I'll get hung for this, but MT I think all this is scaring folk off, this used to be such a friendly easy going forum, now a lot of us are scared to post or just dont bother to share with everyone, and that again goes round to maybe we shouldnt put it on here.:(

    hi there everyone,:)
i have to agree with gill here, i used to post the odd 'find','freebie', 'comp' in here etc which i know wasnt coupon related although some freebies do come with coupons it was just my way of saying thanks to others on here and sharing it with them but i stop doing so as it was pointed out on a few occassions not to post them in here and even had the posts removed.
however id like to thank mt on a top job of running the thread and a big :T to all the new coupon finds:)

    back to lurksville:D

Maybe they're waiting for a critical mass before they send anything out? Of course we could all collectively hassle them for promised coupons via their contact form :D
had a quick look, if people sign up to clearasil and scholl, look like there could be coupons at a later date?

    http://www.clearasil.co.uk/get-awesome-emails.php

    http://www.scholl.com/en-GB/Newsletter.action

Glad to see you started digging, there are sooooo many things on that list I suspect a little treasure trove of goodies is to be had. I wish I had time to go through it all but it's many hours of work.

Wondering if we can each volunteer to take a letter from A-Z then we can trawl through it collectively? If so I think you just volunteered for C and S :rotfl:

this is the only reminder post that i'll keep posting once in a while , as i think its still needed

    another reminders needed,
PLEASE can we not be lazy and take the time to look at 1st pages

    PLEASE
-can people check the first pages BEFORE posting coupon finds
    - politely let me know if you if you find a non working link or expired coupon.
    - if you find a valid/working coupon in 'gone not forgotten' let me know but please make sure its valid before posting a request to add it back in current list.

putting any of the above in BOLD BLUE

link to drivel thread to help keep general non coupon related chatter down
    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/3405981

and keep things polite if you need help/info ask politely and you'll get a quicker reply.
    but also
if/when you recieve the help/info you asked for . PLEASE thanks/acknowledge the reply because that is just as rude and discourages people from helping again.

    THANKS :D

AND DON'T MULTI PRINT / PHOTOCOPY COUPONS ( see coupon FAQs on 1st pages)
a short term gain for one, will lead to a long term lose for all

I have to agree with this, I posted a few weeks back about some MOC's I'd spotted and wanted to share with the peeps who'd helped me so much in the past, I was told (very nicely I must add) that I was on the wrong thread, they were definately MOC's although not for supermarkets.
I'm sorry, but I have to agree that this thread seem to have become over regulated. :( We used to share bargains/glitches such as the one sinw posted on here. It was agree by lots of folk, regulars included, that it was appreciated, as we'd miss things as many of us [including me] don't have time to look at more than a tread or 2.

I haven't posted on here for a while now, some days I have a quick lurk, other days I don't look in at all, yet I used to defend this thread as one of the friendliest and most helpful on MSE.

Thats not to say that I don't appreciate the well ordered front pages and prompt updating and all of MT's efforts in maintaining in the thread, because I do. I just feel the atmosphere on here has changed beyond recognition.

I have only signed in today to offer Gill my support. x

I'll go back to lurking now. :(

How very strange. In fact I was moved to posting similar last night but immediately thought better of it and deleleted my post.

However, Ive this afternoon seen the posts quoted above and felt I too would offer my support. In for a penny...

I completely echo IM post that we are all very grateful for the neat running of the thread and your lists Myrtle are second to none but there is something very regimental about it all these days, reminiscent of those days when you're in your last few years of school and resent being told what to do, say or think by teachers/elders and I mourn the friendly banter of like minded people of the days pre "the useless non-democratic poll", which for me was the straw that broke the camel's back (newbies will probably not know what I mean, apologies). I miss seeing posts from many "old faces" - Byatt, Moneytight, JudeBristol to name just a few - there are many more.

I rarely log on these days, if I do I admit to "read and run" and for the record I do know there is a "drivel" thread but despite preditcted protestations from its posters it is very "cliquey" and unwelcoming.

Anyway, my opinion and mine alone. I will return to lurkdom with my wombling anecdotes.

No offences meant to anyone, just wanted to be heard. x
Love, through the trees, past the sky, beyond the northern lights; and I won't let go. May your soul and spirt fly sweetheart x
