Paypal dispute advice

Hi all
I sold a dress to a buyer in France (who has been a pain from start to finish) they now claim it has not arrived, it was only posted on the 27th July, they have opened a dispute out of the blue so my question is if I lose (as this seems to always go in the buyer favour) what will I have to pay back, is it the price of the item or item and P&P. I have a feeling they are trying it on.

Thanks

As you have not used a tracked method of postage, you really don't know if the item has arrived or not, do you?

As the dispute is open you have two options. Refund willingly and get your PP fees back or refund under duress, risk a neg and lose your fees.

Unfortunately you have to refund their initial payment in full.

It is such a shame when buyers go straight to dispute without giving sellers a chance, however leave the dispute a fe wmore days but make sure you refund before forced to do so.

The refund is the full initial payment. You should claim this back from RM.

Yes, you need to refund the initial cost and the p&p. I think that you can download the form to claim back from RM.

I know when I did a claim with royal mail for an ebay item that gone astray, I had to send in the proof of payment which was invoice, which was what they paid back, but not the cost of the postage you paid, so you end up losing the money you paid to post, unfair, but afraid thats Royal Mail. x
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx
  • Royal Mail should pay compensation for the item and the cost of postage paid.

    http://www2.royalmail.com/customer-service/personal-customers/refunds-and-compensation/lost-item-compensation/lost-item
Table 1 - All retail services other than Special Delivery™ Next day
Postage refund, plus compensation on basis of the customer’s actual loss. This compensation is subject to the maximum payable being the lower of the market value of the item and statutory maximum of 100 x 1st class letter stamps.

Don't they refund the postage for overseas? I see they do for UK but it doesn't mention it for International.
